ELEANOR HALL: Now to our story about those scientific sponges. They work like your everyday kitchen sponge and scientists say that what they're calling "molecular sponges" could hold the key to dealing with greenhouse gas pollution.
A team of Australian researchers has developed crystals full of microscopic holes that can capture gases like carbon dioxide and the scientists designed them specifically to be used in facilities like power stations, as Michael Edwards reports.

Ping!

Rahm Emanuel reporting for duty, Sir!
They discovered my Brother In Law!
He’s gotta be a molecular sponge. He’s a sponge at every level!
ROFLOL!
You too?
I'll bet my BIL is a bigger sponge..:=)!
Plant life will not be happy.
Ah, a scientific response that these morons didn't even consider, thanks!
Ah, a scientific response that these morons didn't even consider, thanks!
By “sponges” I thought they meant the neo-welfare minions that 0bama is creating with 99 week unemployment and increased poverty.
Try this little experiment:
Take an aquarium that has a lid on it with lights, and put a thermometer in it. Pump it full of carbon dioxide, and note that the temperature doesn’t change with the lights on.
Now, let the CO2 out, replace it with air, and put some water in the bottom. The water vapor will make it warmer than the CO2.
Amazing. The Earth is covered in water. Water vapor is the ultimate greenhouse gas - not CO2. Remember terrariums? They aren’t full of CO2, they are full of water vapor....
Enough of the global warming bull$hit.
Thanks for the easy, common-sense approach to disproving these morons, and enlightening me..:=)!
“John Connor is the chief executive of the Climate Institute.
JOHN CONNOR: Well, look, it is going to be vital to be stripping carbon out of the atmosphere but also for having processes for energy and industrial operations to actually have emissions stripped out of their activities as well so it is a vital part of the equation.
However we do it, whether it is underground, in chemicals, in algae, all of these things are going to be important technologies.
MICHAEL EDWARDS: What has been holding research back on these types of processes for the time being?
JOHN CONNOR: Look, at the end of the day the critical thing is having a price tag on pollution - making these things economic and so it is very important that we get on with carbon pricing and other limits which drive further innovation and commercial application of these technologies much of which are there and ready now.
We have got new and potentially exciting technologies opening up but at the end of the day, you need a limit and a price tag on pollution to make them economically viable.”
(end snip)
This eco-nazi really reveals himself and his idiocy in this interview. These people are all communists and are going to destroy our planet AND our economy with this crap.

Large gas filled sponges are nothing new. We already have too many of them.
Yep, water vapor is responsible for 95% of the greenhouse effect.
Have they thought that removing too much CO2 from the air might kill the plants? You know, CO2 levels really aren’t much higher now than at any other time.
