Pew is out with their annual look at how news consumers get their information, with several interesting breakdowns across various forms of media.
But one category that sticks out is which cable news network plays a significant role in peoples news habits not surprisingly, FNC grew year-to-year but CNN and MSNBC were down, even among Democrats. From the study...
" Overall, cable news continues to play a significant role in peoples news habits 39% say they regularly get news from a cable channel. But the proportions saying they regularly watch CNN, MSNBC and CNBC have slipped substantially from two years ago, during the presidential election.
Only Fox News has maintained its audience size, and this is because of the increasing number of Republicans who regularly get news there. Four-in-ten Republicans (40%) now say they regularly watch Fox News, up from 36% two years ago and just 18% a decade ago. Just 12% of Republicans regularly watch CNN, and just 6% regularly watch MSNBC.
As recently as 2002, Republicans were as likely to watch CNN (28%) as Fox News (25%). The share of Democrats who regularly watch CNN or Fox News has fallen from 2008."

Fox tends to be viewed as the Republican party organ.
CNN is the Democrat party organ.
MSNBC speaks for the left wing of the Democrat party.

I keep thinking that someday I should actually watch something on MSNBC, but I don’t want their ratings to double.
They lost 1% of their viewers when the Discovry Channel guy got shot.
Let's see, Glenn Beck goes from CNN to FNC...
Nawww, couldn't be.
I’d bet that more people see MSNBC clips via newsbusters, Glenn Beck, et al than see it on the channel itself.
Several conservative friends and I used to watch FOX news while on our treadmills at the gym. We would watch mostly Beck and enjoy watching the lefties in the gym cringe.
The enlightened democrats would frown, shun or complain about FOX news to gym management who would then inform the lefties that the TV was a first come, first serve privileged.
Presently,we watch MSNBC and completely goof among ourselves and not to other gym patrons, on whatever Chris Mathews or the Ed Show says. Then we launch into a sarcastic rant on how FOX is bias, racist and is a mouthpiece for corporate America.
The lefties NOW complain that we conservatives are insulting them because of our sarcasm and that we make fun of Mathews which, in turn ,is an insult to their beliefs.
These people are never happy.
I think the RAT voters are hunkering down to avoid experiencing the coming beating.
Lets be honest here. If you don’t have Megyn Kelly, Patty Ann Brown, Martha McCallum, et al; you are going to fail. Hot chicks make everything better. Even depressing Obummer news pieces.

We the People want to hear truth, not global warming science fiction, Dem party lies, or how great socialism is.
CNN and MSNBC needs to expire quickly without any bailouts.
Bye-bye now, hope you enjoy your 72 virgins in Hell....
Remember all those millions of TV viewers who used to watch the 6PM news? Well now, they all turn on MSNBC and watch the Ed show...
I plan on watching MSNBC on election night just to watch their hair ignite and their heads explode as the night wears on.
Evil Fox News. Always distorting the news and telling lies! /sarc
But it's so much fun to poke them and listen to them squeak! Sort of like letting the air out of a balloon, but with spittle...
These people are never happy.
$$$$$
True> because they have to maintain vigilance against seeing what is obvious in front of their very eyes at all times. That will tend to make anyone tired and grouchy.
I have heard the analogy of having to hold a beachball underwater forever. Can be done but takes a Lot of Effort. If it pops up, the truth will out.
meanwhile I’m sure many younger people, many of them probably on the Left, may not be crazy about Fox News but help to
make Rupert rich by watching the Fox _broadcast_ channel
(Simpsons, Glee, Family Guy, American Idol). Hee hee!
Rachel Maddow’s voice broke up last January when she had to relate the news that Ted Kennedy’s seat was going to Scott
Brown.
