THE PRESIDENT: Good evening. Today, our fellow citizens, our way of life, our very freedom came under attack in a series of deliberate and deadly terrorist acts. The victims were in airplanes, or in their offices; secretaries, businessmen and women, military and federal workers; moms and dads, friends and neighbors. Thousands of lives were suddenly ended by evil, despicable acts of terror.
The pictures of airplanes flying into buildings, fires burning, huge structures collapsing, have filled us with disbelief, terrible sadness, and a quiet, unyielding anger. These acts of mass murder were intended to frighten our nation into chaos and retreat. But they have failed; our country is strong.
A great people has been moved to defend a great nation. Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shattered steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve.
America was targeted for attack because we're the brightest beacon for freedom and opportunity in the world. And no one will keep that light from shining.
Today, our nation saw evil, the very worst of human nature. And we responded with the best of America -- with the daring of our rescue workers, with the caring for strangers and neighbors who came to give blood and help in any way they could.
Immediately following the first attack, I implemented our government's emergency response plans. Our military is powerful, and it's prepared. Our emergency teams are working in New York City and Washington, D.C. to help with local rescue efforts.
Our first priority is to get help to those who have been injured, and to take every precaution to protect our citizens at home and around the world from further attacks.
The functions of our government continue without interruption. Federal agencies in Washington which had to be evacuated today are reopening for essential personnel tonight, and will be open for business tomorrow. Our financial institutions remain strong, and the American economy will be open for business, as well.
The search is underway for those who are behind these evil acts. I've directed the full resources of our intelligence and law enforcement communities to find those responsible and to bring them to justice. We will make no distinction between the terrorists who committed these acts and those who harbor them.
I appreciate so very much the members of Congress who have joined me in strongly condemning these attacks. And on behalf of the American people, I thank the many world leaders who have called to offer their condolences and assistance.
America and our friends and allies join with all those who want peace and security in the world, and we stand together to win the war against terrorism. Tonight, I ask for your prayers for all those who grieve, for the children whose worlds have been shattered, for all whose sense of safety and security has been threatened. And I pray they will be comforted by a power greater than any of us, spoken through the ages in Psalm 23: "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me."
This is a day when all Americans from every walk of life unite in our resolve for justice and peace. America has stood down enemies before, and we will do so this time. None of us will ever forget this day. Yet, we go forward to defend freedom and all that is good and just in our world.
Thank you. Good night, and God bless America.
I really miss President Bush.

pRes_ _ent Imam Baraq Hussein Obama in his press conference condoned again Islamic Jihad (9/10/2010)
explicitly telling America to resign itself to his illegal Caliphate and their own death:
"In this day and age (Islam) will kill other people.
That threat is here.
The American people must understand that.
It is a reality of today's world".

Sorry, oeb, I cannot bring myself to read Hussein’s ramblings.
He is a liar, so anything he says that remotely sounds truly patriotic I take with a grain of salt.
I will be glad if the American people figure this out and boot him from office in 2012.
These are not Hussein’s words ...
Too bad he doesn’t really believe anything he says that is patriotic or complementary to our great country.
I remember the incessant drum beat that the Democrats started in 2002 and continued through the rest of his terms in office, that Bush was both a coward for not returning immediately to D.C. and for using photos of him during those flights in his campaign literature. These could probably be earmarked as the earliest uses of the “It’s Bush’s Fault” and demonstrated the ability of the Democrats and their wholly owned subsidiary, the Lame-Stream Media, to demonize their target. This was an absolutely despicable process and I have never forgiven them for that.
***America was targeted for attack because we’re the brightest beacon for freedom and opportunity in the world. And no one will keep that light from shining.***
Except Obama, the Islamic Pretender President.
Last night, CSPAN3 and Trinity Broadcasting replayed the National Cathedral Service, and CSPAN3 replayed the address to the JSOC (Joint Session of Congress) on September 20. I was struck, more so now than then, how much in control he seemed...direct talk, resolute, firm, compassionate, you name it.
I miss him...so much...especially considering what’s in the White House now.
Can’t/won’t read it. It would be a slap in the face to all who died on 9/11 to even acknowledge the kenyans presence, much less read his drivel.
The day Americans stood tall.
Thank you for posting that. I so miss President Bush. He posted this morning on Facebook the following message.
George W. Bush On September 11, 2001, Americans awoke
to evil on our shores. On this solemn day of remembrance, Laura and I hold the victims and their families in our thoughts and prayers. We recall the many acts of heroism on that day, and we honor those who work tirelessly to prevent another attack. May God bless our great country and those who defend her.
This is from 2001; i.e. Bush’s speech, not Zero’s.
history will be kind to Bush that is if there is even an America to report about that is it may be a history like Roman history.
Obama would be compared to nero
ONLY AMERICA and Americans would ever be great enough to take on the task of ridding the world of these monsters.
God Bless us all, our soldiers who serve and have served and President Bush and his family.
It says in the title this is from September 11, 2001, with the author listed as George W. Bush.
Not many, I'm afraid. I guess it's always going to be called 9/11 Day.....which suits me to a tee. also.
However"Patriot Day" was so designated by President George W. Bush in commemoration of 2001's terrorist attacks.....and the date, September 11 shall be observed and honored every year from 2001 henceforth.

My bad, Sorry eob. must’ve transposed the 1 and 0 in my head.
