Shields: Barack Obama has created more private sector jobs in this year than Bush did in eight.

[snip]...

MARK SHIELDS: And I just wanted to point this out, that Bill Clinton came into office on January 20, 1993. He left on January 20, 2001. He raised taxes to a spectacularly high level, by Republican standards, to 39.6 percent. There were, in Bill Clinton's eight years, 21,872,000 jobs created in the private sector.

George Bush came in, and, following the lead of Mr. Taylor and others, cut taxes to their lowest, to 33 percent. During George Bush's eight years in the White House, from January 20, 2001, to 2009, the country lost 672,000 jobs.

JIM LEHRER: And you think there is a direct connection?

MARK SHIELDS: Well, I mean, there obviously is, because David told us last week that, if we raised it, it was going to hurt the economy.

DAVID BROOKS: Wait. No.

(LAUGHTER)

[snip]...

MARK SHIELDS: Who are we kidding -- two years, let them go up? They were going to go up after 10 years. That's -- the Bush tax cuts were supposed to expire, have to expire, by law, at 10 years. All right?

They will extend them in perpetuity. I mean, there is one organizing principle among all the Republicans, whether they are Tea Parties or just garden-variety Republicans. That is, we don't raise taxes. Barack Obama has created more private sector jobs in this year, in his administration, than Bush did in eight. So, I don't know what we are talking about, ways...

DAVID BROOKS: I'm talking about the right policy.

Yeah! Why do we have to support PBS?

It was meant to represent those communities, not-white, who were underrepresented on TV. With BET and a boatload of hispanic stations, that function is no longer needed.

Lets hope their group is getting smaller by the day.

It's not getting smaller. 50% of Americans now receive "assistance" in one form or another from the Federal gubmint. Sixty years of gubmint control of the skools, like elections, has it's consequences.

Also in the same transcript;
“MARK SHIELDS: I am not as upbeat about it as David. I think that there has been a frenzy of anti-Muslim activity and rhetoric. And it is not just the province of the marginalized, of the few. It has become mainline. It’s become mainline with — for political advantage.

Newt Gingrich, I mean, the man who is described as the brains of the Republican Party, is — is a leading proponent and expropriator of this sort of language. “

And Jimma' Carter did more for the destruction of the Soviet Union then Ronald Reagan.

Yeah. The Soviet Union crumbled when Jimmah jumped high and kissed Brezhnev out at the Moscow airport.

Is it just me, or does it seem the media lies are getting MUCH MUCH WORSE?

You have it right. In recent years, the media has gone well beyond just being biased. They no longer report the news, but have become virtual propaganda machines for the left. News and events just provide the backdrop they use to distort facts, attack opposing views, and attempt to shape public opinion. Fortunately, most of the public is on to their game and is no longer buying it (literally).

I thought about this for a while...and realized...they are mostly in Mexico and China

At the very least, lots of stimulous money going into “shovel ready” construction jobs has to be going back to Mexico. Would be interesting to see some estimates on this.

Facts? We don’t need no stinking facts.

Really, you cannot argue with LIBs in any logical way. They can only feel. As in “I feel your pain”. Or, George Bush hates black people”. Or, “they are eating human flesh, because of George Bush” Or, little Sally doesn’t have health care because of Republicans”.

Something as trivial as facts won’t even slow them down. And that is why they have so much empathy for Mohammedans. They both share a common goal - the destruction of America.

Liberals work from the perspective that the bigger the lie you tell the better.

The big lie, the big emotional play, and the big personal attack. That’s the combo they consistently use.

Wow, so what are those millions of slackers collecting unemployment doing? They should be jumping on this bounty of jobs! /end major sarcasm

I think that maybe he does really believe he created more private sector jobs. Bush had so many fewer un- and under- employed, I don't know how to compare the two.

And especially because Obama has authorized and brought to fruition that pork laden bonanza called stimulus which does indeed create grants to create min wage and not always full time jobs, and some (many?) short term at that. A nice short term bandaid. When these funded jobs cycle out, should we expect another surge in unemployment? Finally, if he considers that Americans should be damn happy to 'get' min wage, pt jobs (you need more than one if you can find it) to replace their previous work, wow, just wow. Living in a whole other world...

There were, in Bill Clinton's eight years, 21,872,000 jobs created in the private sector.

I wonder if he thinks that all of those jobs created by Y2K and setting up the servers and software for E-commerce wouldn't have been created without Clinton.

Seeing how unemployment remained below 6 percent it is impossible for the country to have lost jobs on bush’s watch. Honest numbers are stubborn thing

Are they just making up numbers now?

What's this "now" business? If a liberal's lips are moving and no one is around to hear him speak, is it still a lie?
