Islam center's eerie echo of ancient terror

Should there be a mosque near Ground Zero? In fact, what is pro posed is not a mosque -- nor even an "Islamic cultural center."

In Islam, every structure linked to the faith and its rituals has a precise function and character. A mosque is a one-story gallery built around an atrium with a mihrab (a niche pointing to Mecca) and one, or in the case of Shiites two, minarets.

Other Islamic structures, such as harams, zawiyyahs, husseinyiahs and takiyahs, also obey strict architectural rules. Yet the building used for spreading the faith is known as Dar al-Tabligh, or House of Proselytizing.

What Every American needs to know about the Quran: A history of Islam and the United States,by Wm.J.Federer,Amerisearch,
2010 provides on p.75-76 a response I wish the Americans
would insist upon in response to Imam Dog.13th Century Dhimmi
rules-I would turn these to be applied to the people who twice attacked the World Trade Center—and multiple related minor Jihad.Wherever these were applied to non-Muslim I would apply them to the slaves of Allah in America today.

No. There should not be a mosque or any other islamic monument near Ground Zero. Nor should there be a moslem in this hemisphere. Not a single one.

How can I respect a “religion” that holds as a basic tenet my death or submission?

Thanks for posting a very informative article.

I had no idea Islam had strict architectural guidelines for all official Islamic structures. If what Mr. Taheri says is true then this cannot be a mosque but most closely resembles a "rabat" or "connector" which dates back to Mohammed. Built in a recently conquered area it was a place of prayer, to rest and recover while preparing for further conquest.

Also interesting was the following comment posted at the article concerning the renaming of the proposed structure from the Cordoba House to the Park 51 Cultural Center:

Cordoba House” changed its name to Park 51 which is odd since the address of the location is 45–47 Park Place. Look to the Koran-the book of islamic conquest, to understand the odd name for this “project”. Koran CHAPTER 51, Verses 45-47 explains all: 51:45 And they were unable to arise, nor could they defend themselves. 51:46 And [We destroyed] the people of Noah before; indeed, they were a people defiantly disobedient. 51:47 And the heaven We constructed with strength, and indeed, We are [its] expander. The numbered Koran verses celebrating the muslim conquests match up to the Park 51: 45-46-47 address. The message is clear: “THOSE THAT STOOD AGAINST THE MUSLIMS WERE DEFIANT YET THEY WERE POWERLESS AGAINST MOHAMMED’S MADNESS” Imam Faisel Rauf is a wolf in sheep’s clothing exploiting American freedoms to spread intolerant Shari’a Law. NO MOSQUE IN THE WTC’s SHADOW! Read more: http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/islam_center_eerie_echo_of_ancient_iRTMW6TprkULnaA1Nqi9xM#ixzz0zAQ8l4xo

(scary stuff)

In fact, the proposed structure is known in Islamic history as a rabat — literally a connector. The first rabat appeared at the time of the Prophet.

The Prophet imposed his rule on parts of Arabia through a series of ghazvas, or razzias (the origin of the English word “raid”). The ghazva was designed to terrorize the infidels, convince them that their civilization was doomed and force them to submit to Islamic rule. Those who participated in the ghazva were known as the ghazis, or raiders.

After each ghazva, the Prophet ordered the creation of a rabat — or a point of contact at the heart of the infidel territory raided. The rabat consisted of an area for prayer, a section for the raiders to eat and rest and facilities to train and prepare for future razzias. Later Muslim rulers used the tactic of ghazva to conquer territory in the Persian and Byzantine empires. After each raid, they built a rabat to prepare for the next razzia.

It is no coincidence that Islamists routinely use the term ghazva to describe the 9/11 attacks against New York and Washington. The terrorists who carried out the attack are referred to as ghazis or shahids (martyrs).

Thus, building a rabat close to Ground Zero would be in accordance with a tradition started by the Prophet. To all those who believe and hope that the 9/11 ghazva would lead to the destruction of the American “Great Satan,” this would be of great symbolic value.

I got this in an email today. Don't know about the truth of it.

In Seville, Spain, the City Council authorized the construction of a Mosque on one of the empty pieces of land. The citizens did not want the mosque built in their vicinity and found a brilliant solution. They buried a pig in the land, and made the news public. The Islamic law prohibits the construction of a mosque on lands desecrated by remains of pigs, therefore the Muslims had to renounce the construction on this desecrated land...

Astute Sevillans…The commentaries of the Civil Guard (Police) are very interesting. Maybe it is the solution needed by New York to avoid the construction of a mosque in the vicinity of the twin towers.

The Israelis are using a similar strategy since 2004. They placed a box
containing pig lard on the buses in Israel and made it public that any kamikaze suicide bomber who tries to assault a bus, risks the prohibition of entering heaven by getting the pig lard on them.

There are no suicide bombers on the buses in Israel any more. Maybe we should try this here in america as well. Bring on the "BLT" sandwiches.

Thanks for posting this.

It is very intersting that the structure they want to build is not even a mosque. It seems it is an indoctination and propaganda center.

How much “exercise of religion” will go on there?
