More directly, show me where service in the Armed Forces is a Constitutional “right”.

On a happier note, zero was at -24 today for the second time this week, according to Ras. -24 is the lowest number he’s ever hit. It’s the only time I’m aware of that he hit the same new low number twice in the same week, and I’ve checked Ras almost every day (I might miss 2-3 days per month) for over a year now.

I remember a similar case during the Clinton era. A cadet at one of the Academices came out as gay just before graduation—he was then discharged. He then sued for reinstatement. Some (Federal) judge ruled in his favor and ordered the Academy to reinstate him. Clinton ignored the ruling on the basis that POTUS was the CINC—not some Federal judge. And I think that was that. In that situation, WJC did the right thing. Of course, Obama will only be too happy to turn his CINC responsibilities over to the Federal courts.

The injunction was sought by the Log Cabin Republicans, a 19,000-member group that includes current and former military members.

Steve Schmidt's pals.

26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as “normal, natural, healthy.”

This decision won’t stand on appeal, if the Ø does appeal. It is such an incredibly weak argument on many levels. First Amendment rights in the military? Give me a break!

Congress shall have authority to make rules to regulate land and naval forces? Surely that means that gays must be allowed to serve openly, I mean the language is plain enough, isn’t it? I am sure it also means that one legged blind lesbians are automatically qualified for general officer status.

What standing does a Federal Judge have over the Military? Just wondering. Are we now going to let the judiciary fight our wars? God help us..............

Exactly right!

We could save a whole bunch of money by just doing away with the Legislative Branch. They apparently aren't needed anymore.

They now have to put in their opinions ....and anything else that strikes their fancy.

This sort of totalitarianism was foreshadowed by two clauses in the Constitution that the Antifederalists complained about: the "General Welfare" clause and the "necessary and proper" clause, which taken together, the Antifederalists reasoned (correctly), gave Congress and the federal Government illimitable power over every thing the mind could conceive of, as a subject of legislation and litigation.

It's not like we weren't warned. This is Alexander Hamilton at work again -- "empire without the King" was always what he really wanted, his critics said, and any affection for liberty and republic were just a necessary pretense on his part.

His motive? It was "good for business" -- crony/access capitalism, again. He certainly did well at crony capitalism himself: he made a fortune speculating in gold and silver against the coin of his own Government.

Steve Schmidt's pals.

And Ken Mehlman's. And Alan Simpson's. And Mark Foley's. And .... and .... and ..... and, one thinks, probably the majority of Yalies ever inducted into Skull and Bones.

Or Harvardians into the Porcellians. And on and on. The Brotherhood of the Bell.

My first hunch as well. No photo, no family history, no nothing other than the fact that she got her law degree from Berkeley of all places in 1982. On a personal note this kind of rubs me the wrong way because while she was having her head filled with progressive rubbish at Berkeley I was stationed at Alameda 20 miles away in the East Bay. Is this what I was defending?

Amazing to me what these judges "find" in the Constitution.

Let's face it, our once-hallowed Constitution is a worthless piece of paper at this point. Our judges have made it so. It contains whatever they want it to contain.

Zactly! Bezerkley of all learned institutions of law and likely a ‘Hillary’ Rodham Clinton acquaintance as well. *wink* We have to ponder, “why now, after DADT has been in in effect all these year?”

On a persona note, thank you for your service to our country and may God bless you and your family.

The problem is these states are now swing states because of the last batch of Californians who moved and turned formerly solid Republican states like Arizona and Nevada into swing states. Same thing on the east coast with New Yorkers and Massachusites turning New Hampshire and North Carolina into swing states.

This is pretty angering. The military should be allowed to run it’s own affairs without civilian interference, within reason, and not be used as a social labratory. I don’t really even have a problem with gays or gay marriage even, but I find this aggravating.
