We don’t have enough information. In any event, this is obviously NOT about “building bridges” or showing how peaceful Islam is or anything else of that nature. It’s a passive aggressive move to show domination and control, while hiding behind lies and platitudes.
They bought it at $4.5 million. The guy said if someone offered $35-$40 million, he’d take it.

I believe Kelo said a third party who can generate more tax revenues can seize privately owned property.
This Victory Mosque will be tax exempt, so even a popcorn stand would generate more tax revenue.
Trumps offer was never going to go anywhere because I suspect that there was a deal cut under the table with the original owner. Current owner probably paid more than what is quoted.
Someone who made a much higher offer than the current owners is pissed because he was turned down.

Trump (God bless him for the effort) needs a few more backers. Were I in a position of power, I would see that somehow, the land was made unsuitable for a mosque. Whatever it took. And if I had that kind of money, who could prove I did it?

The owners of the building turned down a $10 million offer to sell it for $4 million to the Imam. Its not about the money.
What a bunch of mudder fudders. What is going on with the preacher? is he going to NY or not? since there is no bartering allowed according to the Iman.

Most likely it was a publicity move on Trump’s part. He always has one before “The Apprentice” starts a new season, and since he had nobody left to feud with and no scandalous beauty queens to deal with this was a good choice. That being said, why should the developer care? If he’s just looking for a good business deal, what does he care if the buyer gets publicity? Anyone who buys this building is going to get publicity. Or is he going to insist that the buyer remain anonymous?
It's an attempt to build a victory monument like other sites around the world.
