White House Names Asian Carp Czar (Not a joke!)

We have drug czars, energy czars, actual Russian czars (well, we used to), and -- perhaps a mark that we maybe need a nomenclature czar -- we now have an Asian carp czar. Yesterday The White House announced that a former leader of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources and the Indiana Wildlife Federation would become the first "Asian carp czar." John Goss will oversee the near $80 million federal response to the Asian carp, a particularly invasive species that is threatening the Great Lakes.

Foolish is hiring a great lakes czar, putting invasive species under his jurisdiction, and then hiring a carp czar.

The asian carp should have been dealt with a long time ago but Obama stepped into the court fight and made it go the way his Chi town homies wanted.

Well, yes, I think it is quite the understatement that the asian carp should have been dealt before they were, what, a couple of miles from the Great Lakes via the Chicago River.

People simply aren’t paying attention.

I expected at that at least one voice would ask why we need a carp czar when invasive species are among the listed jurisdiction of the great lakes czar. Cameron Davis got something like a 20 billion dollar budget as great lakes czar and I haven’t heard a word out of him since. (He’s a Chicago homie BTW)

I’m also a litte confused why we would choose two czars from the two states with the least stake in the great lakes.

Taking notes, check on the window, check the salary(I am resigning after the first year!), check on the Cadillac(hope they have that pretty pearl color in stock), check on the health plan, it's a go on the pension(although we'll probably be bankrupt, never get to collect any of that).

Now to plan my vacations ...
