In the wake of the battle over a mosque at Ground Zero, a move by Hartford City Council is sure to have its critics.
The Council announced Tuesday that it has invited local imams to perform Islamic invocations at the beginning of the Council meetings in September.
Though meetings don't regularly begin with any form of prayer, an email from the Common Council called it "an act of solidarity with our Muslim brothers and sisters."
The email even referenced the ongoing issue in New York. "One of the goals of the Council is to give a voice to the many diverse peoples of the City, which is especially important given the recent anti-Islam events throughout the country."
Council President rJo Winch called it an important move for the Council. "I feel it is very important that, as a Council, we project a culture of inclusiveness in the City of Hartford. Too often it is our differences that divide us. In my opinion, it is our combination of differences that makes us strong," Winch said.

A Council of fools. Real live fools has proclaimed their solidarity with their Muslim brothers, and sisters.
Those brothers and sisters are looking over their necks, and mentally penciling the path of their simitars.

Honestly, if every meeting started with a prayer, I would have no problem with a muslim prayer being said as long as prayers from other major religions were rotated through the meetings.
But to just include one faith, especially one as controversial as islam, and solely for political purposes is just plain WRONG!!!
Hartford deserves this load of cr@p! I hope the residents of Hartford are proud of the officials they elected....

The libs say this kind of thing all the time. Imo it makes them sound like idiots. I’ve always thought the opposite was true. It’s not the “differences” in people that unite them! It is where you find common ground. Example, members of a christian church who believe in the same doctrine will feel “united” and of like mind with their fellow church-goers. Those students on a sports team playing together on the field...they always say if you want to find friends join a club, group of people with the same interests as you have. Why am I explaining what is common sense lol. Bored I guess. But it boggles the mind how foolish people have become.

This is a phony story as you present it. It was NOT the HS which told the student to remove the flag, it was a security officer who according to the school had no authority to do what she did.
The Principal said there is NO rule against flying the flag and that the security officer was 100% wrong.

Wish someone from that council would make a request - after the Muslim prayer - that they all join hands and recite the Lord’s Prayer. Just to show more solidarity with the Christian and Jewish brothers and sisters.
