Members of the New Black Panther Party showed up in Gainesville Monday to let The Dove World Outreach Center know it is outraged by its plan to burn the Koran.
"I believe in peace but if you aggress me, I am going to fight back," said State Chairman of the New Black Panther Party Mikhail Muhammad.
The church plans to burn the holy book Saturday on the ninth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
The pastor's plan has reached all the way to Afghanistan where Monday hundeds of demonstrators burned a cardboard effigy of the Gainesville pastor, Terry Jones.
"We are not surprised at all that they are responding in that way because that's the nature of Sharia law, that's the nature of violent Islam," said Jones.

"We basically want to warn Pastor Terry Jones that if he burns this Koran, he's going to insight a wrath and chastisement on himself that he will not be able to bare (sic) and all he's going to do is add more division between Muslims and Christians when we should be sitting down at the table to resolve our differences," said Muhammad.
The New Black Panther Party say it will be back in Gainesville Saturday to show the church and the world they won't stand for religious hatred.

As for the Koran matter, not too far away from that church in Gainesville is something called the “Islamic Dawa Center.” What does “dawa” mean? Conversion or proselytism. The University of Florida is also located in Gainesville, and, in addition to putting out banners for “Gay Pride Week,” they also officially support every Islamic event that comes down the pike.
I think this minister’s gesture may be a little over the top and not well thought-out - it has actually resulted in thousands of words of coverage sympathetic to the Muslims in the North Florida press, including a gushing article in my local paper this morning that was so ecstatic in its praise of Islam that it was enough to make one upchuck - but it’s certainly possible to see what motivated him to make such a gesture.
And, of course, it’s true that the Koran is an evil book and has been the source of untold amounts of evil and horror since the very beginning.
I have to wonder where they’ll get the Korans to burn.
Will there be a mad rush on Korans? The Muslim publishers will appreciate the increased revenue.

If you want it to burn well and not just smolder and go out, the best thing to do is the following.
Open the book of filth completely until the front and back covers touch each other and all the pages splay out. It should now look like a cylinder.
Sacrifice a clothespin and clip the front and back covers together.
Pour a little bacon grease on the devil’s book just to help keep it burning.
Stand it on end and light ‘er off.

You are assuming that the Apostle Paul wasn't standing by in approval. It's appearance in scripture suggests that Paul did approve of this demonstration of their rejecting the texts of false religion.
However, you want it to be 2nd generation Christians burning the texts of false religions. The New Testament isn't about 2d generation Christians.
You must remember, though, that Paul NEVER was a practitioner of those religions. He was a Pharisee, a member of Judaism, an adherent of the religion out of which Christianity grew.
Therefore, Paul's presence is a 2nd generation Judeo-Christian, one who NEVER was a member of those religions who was present giving approval to the burning of those texts.
The parallel is that the church in Gainesville represents a bunch of Paul's who are part of another burning of false texts.
I suspect my Messianic brethren might have some insight into this.
Now, if this pastor is attacked or killed for this act, do you blame the murderous adherents of this evil cultocracy or do you blame those who burned the texts?

Is it similarly unwise to burn korans, because we fear inciting the cultic retribution that has been threatened?
Some might say that is exactly the thing to do; as is publishing cartoons, refusing to wear burkhas, and prosecuting honor killers to the fullest extent of the law.
The women of Bedford-Stuyvesant should en masse walk those streets at midnight to take back their streets.
Tell us of the push to buy and burn theosophy books, or Jewish rabbinical works, or Hindu texts, etc.
None of which would create as much uproar as this.
And nobody has bothered, either.
It is obvious that this church? is doing this to get a rise out of folks.
Are you denying that the Apostle Paul supported the burning in Acts 19?
I am denying this incident’s relevance to the controversy at hand.
I’ve already demonstrated that the Apostle Paul was not a convert from the religions whose books he oversaw the burning of.
So what, you evasive weasel? It was a scene of an act of repentance of those who WERE such converts. Any Christian would approve of seeing this. No Christian would just burn books to be burning them.
Ok, then here's a question for you. Would you support a group of ex-Muslims who had converted to Christianity having a public burning of their Korans?
Do you think that the "moderate" Muslims would be any less pissed off about that demonstration than they are about this one?
Or do you think they would gleefully support a Fatwa on those apostates as well as the members of the Church that they attend?
Let's say you had some recent converts to your Church who just converted from Islam. Let's say they wanted to follow the example of the first century Christians who burned their idolatrous texts and they decided to publicly burn their Korans as a show of faith and they wanted to do it "IN THE SIGHT OF EVERYONE"
Would you stand side by side with them when they did it?
Or would you cower in fear of the repercussions of such an event on you or your church?
Evasive weasel? Where’d that come from? Why call me that? I’m an ordained minister of a major denomination who served his nation for decades. If I have a failing in this attempt on your part to say there’s no Christian basis for burning the koran, it is that I happen to know the bible.
Paul, a non-convert from those religions, was approving of those books being burned. It’s a fact AND it’s proven by Luke, Paul’s traveling companion, including the story in this book of Acts.
Paul was not above intentionally causing trouble when it came to false religion. Shortly thereafter in Ephesus, the Apostle Paul was walking around in goddess diana territory telling everyone that she was no goddess and that they should not be involved in such things. It caused a riot. Read about it, too, in Acts 19.
Paul was no idiot. He was from Asia Minor/Turkey, so he knew what his statements would lead to.

Somehow I doubt that. From his posts, I think he has made it clear that he wouldn't come within a hundred miles of a Koran Burning no matter how much biblical support there was for it.

I wonder if he protested the publication of cartoons in Denmark, the prohibition of burkha wearing in Paris, and the prohibition of minarets in Switzerland.
