Washington (AP) - Delaware Republicans call Senate hopeful Christine O'Donnell a liar who "could not be elected dog catcher" in a fierce attack that underscores GOP fears of the tea party-backed candidate knocking off top recruit Rep. Mike Castle and winning the nomination.
Stunned by tea partier Joe Miller's upset of Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski, Republicans are taking no chances in Delaware, which holds its primary Sept. 14. The party sees Castle, the state's lone congressman since 1993, as the best candidate for the seat long held by Vice President Joe Biden.
Republicans circulated audio of a testy, 22-minute interview that O'Donnell had with radio station WGMD on Thursday. Party officials also have said she inflated her resume and made flat-out untrue statements while being dogged by questions about tax liens and foreclosures. Castle says she has misrepresented his record.
"She's not a viable candidate for any office in the state of Delaware," state Republicann Party Chairman Tom Ross, who is backing Castle, said in a telephone interview. "She could not be elected dog catcher."
Castle's campaign began running radio ads on Thursday and prepared negative television ads against O'Donnell. The radio ads cite a News Journal of Wilmington, Del., report on O'Donnell's finances and declares her "a financial nightmare."
"According to the News Journal, O'Donnell has become a professional candidate, living off contributions from her two failed campaigns," ...

Just what the demonkrats are praying for ... the Republicans eating their own! This is precisely why I have told the RNC that I will not donate to them, but will give my campaign contributions to the candidates of MY choice. The RNC seems to have a knack for choosing candidates who can't win ... from Dole on. We've got to break that 'gubmt' thinking that 'seniority' gets the brass ring irrespective of their competence.
Obviously the Delaware Republicans have not learned the lessons from 2006 and 2008 yet! Until the Republican party learns the real lessons, not their "interpretations" of those two elections, they will remain, quite simply, a minority party at best, and perhaps evaporate into history if their stubborn streak continues! In order to EVER become a ruling party again, you must become the ALTERNATIVE to the leftist controlled and operated Democrat machine!!
Maybe the cute little RINO’s are afraid because with our help there is the possibility of their impending extinction.
Damn sure hope so! They are really ticking me off.
RINOS only care about how large their share of the Loot will be if they get control. I would go for the T-Party. RINOS are useless in the long term. Just look at the Maine Twin RINOS.

SHE IS NUTS!!
No third party. We take over the GOP.
IMHO, one thing’s for certain — if the Tea Party backs a candidate who wins, and that person turns out to be another RINO, they’ll throw them out faster than their own party will.
Like it or not, Repubs, the Tea Party is watching you just as closely as the Dems.
She would make a very poor candidate in the General Election. Better a RINO in that seat with an R by his name than a needless defeat and a possibility of recapturing the Senate up in smoke.
Not in my book.
A RINO is WORSE than a dem because you and depend on a dem to be an enemy but you never know when a RINO is going to turn around and stab you in the back.
Sorry, when you have a population that recurringly elected Joe Biden "dirt" is something you just don't need to worry about.
Look, this other Senator they had out there was the least noticed member of the Senate in the history of the Republic.
He had only a handful of newstories on his activites during his terms in office, and yet lurking in his background it was all too easy to discover that he'd introduced his secretary to a man who finally murdered her, stuffing her in a cooler, and setting her adrift off the coast.
So, what kind of people did you imagine Delaware wants?
Frankly, you are setting the bar too high. Christine O'Donnell certainly meets all the standards anyone could possibly need in Delaware.
Are you from Delaware? Can’t tell since you haven’t bothered to post a home page. This is DE’s fight, and suggest you stay out of it unless you have a dog in the fight.
It would help the country if RINO politicians went and took over the 'Rat Party and made the socialists join the Commie Party where they belong.

Delaware RINOS Attack Tea Party Senate Candidate As Unelectable Liar
RINOs need to be defeated. We do not need more of the same. RINOs are the Benedict Arnolds in our midst. Vote RINOs out...at any initial cost. Conservatives will prevail in the longer term.
I has been proven in recent history that an (R) doesn’t mean any less than a (D).
sadly, you sound a lot like Connecticut...
"Mike Castle is a total jerk, creep, RINO nit wit. Makes Marxist Obama look good even. Why in the world would left leaning Hot Air wish to attack anyone who wants to take this Commie down? I havent read HotAir in months because they have turned into such an anti-Sarah Obama ass kissing rag. So I come back to it today to find this garbage and even folks who attack Mark Levin. Are you good people nuts? Do you want Castle in there to continue to destroy America? I wouldnt care which conservative took this fool down it could be Ronald McDonald for all I care. Just take him down. I am sorry to disturb HotAir readers who were busy writing checks to the Democratic Committee to elect more Commies go back to your good work now folks, Ive vented .. Hoo-rah, Cinday!
Castle supports them all.
It would not be prudent to continue support for such RINOs.
Not possible. The only thing that would do is dilute any power conservatives may have and give added power to Dims. Dims love this kind of talk.
