I guess that settles that. It's always interesting to be reminded Hawking is British. He doesn't sound English.

Funny that he thinks that the universe can be created from nothing and yet can’t fathom the idea of God. Pitiful, little man. Just a thought

“The Big Bang was the result of the inevitable laws of physics and did not need God to spark the creation of the Universe, Stephen Hawking has concluded.”
Where’d those laws of physics come from Stevie?

THEN BY WHAT PROCESS WAS THE UNIVERSE CREATED, GENIUS?
By your own admission, Hawking, your statement of faith is more ridiculous than any religion’s: I have faith that something created something, and you have faith that nothing created something.
If you can give one example, in this universe, of spontaneous creation, your statement might make sense.

That is like saying that because you didn't see the architect homeowner and financier show up at the job site to personally pound nails and pour concrete, he was not needed to create the house.

Because there is a law such as gravity,I wish one of these eggheads would kindly explain to us unwashed ignoramusii just how those "laws" came into being to begin with. I totally believe in the Big Bang, but "someone" had to pull the trigger. ; )
To: tlb
furthermore, Hawking must be sure the “law of science” just invented itself out of .....
All scientists know that matter acts and assembles into meaningful function with no underlying information to design and direct it.
“Information Happens, then Sh@t happens”
right?

I’m quite perplexed by a person whose imagination can grasp the wonders unknown and unseen of this universe, yet cannot grasp the notion of an intelligence or a consciousness higher than that of man. Why must science and religion be a zero sum game?
To: tlb
Because there is a law such as gravity, the Universe can and will create itself from nothing. A law without a lawgiver.
A creation without a creator.
An effect without a cause.
What a brilliant man.

"Spontaneous creation"?
Yawn.
Where did the forces come from that enabled this "spontaneous creation"? Gravity created itself?
Does this kind of intellectual laziness pass for "science" these days?

One day science will have answered all the questions in the universe except one.
And then they will refuse to answer that one remaining question because it will prove beyond doubt that God exists.
And God will laugh.
