News Wednesday afternoon that an armed gunman had entered the cable TV headquarters of Discovery Communications in Silver Spring, Maryland and begun taking hostages alarmed people throughout the Washington, D.C. area and around the country. As law enforcement officials negotiated with the suspect, posts on social media outlets inevitably began arguing over the ideological motivations of the hostage-taker, James J. Lee. Conservatives were quick to point out the suspect's radical environmentalist manifesto, while left-leaning sources disclaimed any connection. News a few hours later that the suspect had been shot and killed by police spawned a round of smug black humor, concluding that he had been successful is accomplishing one of his chief demands, a smaller world population.

Before the end of the week the media will be portraying him as a Sarah-Palin-worshiping, Tea Party faithful.
In the past week, we've had a berserk environmentalist stage a hostage crisis, and a berserk pro-abortion nut kill someone because they were pro-life.
And the media is full of stories of the violent, hate-filled, racist SOBs who attended Glen Beck's rally.
Conservatives are not the scary people.
Yet.
This one is Al Gore’s baby. Let’s see how fast the media stuffs this entire episode down the memory hole.
I, for one, am completely fed up with this crap. I don't even make "discussion" posts anymore because I realize I am preaching to the choir and FR would delete what I truly would like to have said.
Beck said last night that this guy had a history of arrests and felt that “we weren’t doing enough” to save the environment.
Well he got what he wanted. One less person destroying the planet. Hopefully other environmentalists who push for depopulation will start with themselves.
Yeah, I understand why we can’t say certain things here — but boy would I like to be able to come out and say what I’m thinking.

It never happened because they don’t have enough power yet. Among themselves they freely discuss eradicating conservatives, the infirm, the non-genetically perfect.
Once they get the power it will become ok to speak of such things in public.

Too bad he was killed. With his beliefs and manifesto he had all the qualifications to be a “Green Czar” in this administration!
And it has been reported that the security guards in the lobby of the Discovery Channel building were unarmed.

No. By the end of the week he will become an un-person, and the entire incident will be forgotten. It'll never be mentioned again. Just like Amy Bishop and Omar Thornton. Just like Davis Don Carpenter and Joshua Brown.
Local talker Chris Baker this morning called the TVstationTerrorist an Herbal Tea Bagger. Said he was a member of Al Gore Qaeda
One leftist site, Think Progress, already did. They pulled out the one paragraph in his whackjob “manifesto” that mentioned the evils of immigration and “anchor babies” and used it to try and portray him as a right-wing anti-immigration nutburger. No mention of his love of “An Inconvenient Truth” or his hard-left eco-weenie anti-human beliefs.
