Sarah Palin is going to Iowa to be the headliner at a Republican fund-raiser. In the state that will be the first to hold a contest in the 2012 presidential campaign, even if it has to do it in 2011.
Her staff says this means nothing whatsoever, but let us acknowledge that Palin is on a roll. Shes got her own TV show, not counting Fox News. And she twitters! Or somebody does it for her. Hard to tell which. Her twit on the presidents Iraq speech was: may make u want to dig out ur old Orwell books so rewritten history can be deciphered.
On the one hand, the sentence construction does have that Sarah ring to it. On the other, how many of you think that Palin has old Orwell books hanging around the house? May I see a show of hands?
And she endorses candidates. In the Republican primary for the United States Senate race in Alaska, her pick, a hitherto unknown person named Joe Miller, beat the incumbent, Lisa Murkowski. Whether Palins backing made any difference to the 28 percent of eligible voters who flocked to the polls is unknowable. But Palins endorsement did inspire the Tea Party Express to give Miller nearly $600,000 for TV commercials, which he used to brand Murkowski as a liberal insider who changes her positions more often than a moose sheds its antlers and as a member of a family who regards itself as entitled royalty.
We stayed on the high road, Murkowski said when she finally conceded on Tuesday. She originally got her Senate seat from her father, Frank, who held it before her and then decided to appoint Lisa as his successor when he moved on to the states governorship.

There’s a difference between being witty and being bitchy, Gail. No one reading this would conclude that you’re smart, hip, clever, astute, or even a particularly good writer. They might conclude that you’re petty and angry and envious, however. They might conclude that you’ve been left behind and are shooting at disappearing tail-lights.
Gail Collins, even by liberal standards, is FUGLY....
Me F'N ow!
Meeeeeeeeeooowwwwww!
gads! She is FUGLY! So I wont post a pic!
It's kind of revealing that Gail Collins apparently considers George Orwell arcane and difficult reading. He's fairly straightforward and easy to read, like Hemmingway or Twain. It's not like he's James Joyce or Herman Melville.
I guess Jackie Collins or books with Fabio on the cover are more Gail's speed.
Gail has to fly the shuttle in coach, eat at 2 star restaurants and is probably months away from the unemployment line.
Fabio? I don’t imagine Gail swings in that direction.
“Whether Palins backing made any difference to the 28 percent of eligible voters who flocked to the polls is unknowable.”
Unknowable? Perhaps. But according to Joe Miller himself; “Without Sarah Palin’s help we wouldn’t have been able to do it.” (Paraphrase of remarks made on 9/01/10). Sounds as though HE knows it!!
It is curious though isn’t it? One wonder if conservatives really really like Mitt, or are just afraid someone might call them a name?
LOL!
If this is an example of her writing ability, I would say the unemployment line will be her next “assignment.” If this stuff can pass the editor’s desk at the NYT, I’d say the Old Grey Lady is looking like a meth addict these days.
A few minutes ago I posted a reply in which I paraphrased Joe Miller’s remarks about Sarah Palin’s help in his campaign. I thought it might be advisable to go back and dig up exactly what he said. Thanks for your patience.
EXCERPT FROM A CNN ARTICLE: But there was one Republican for which Miller expressed strong admiration former Alaska governor and Tea Party favorite Sarah Palin, who endorsed the previously unknown candidate, and is largely credited with helping him pull off an upset win against the Republican party-backed Murkowski.
“[Palin] was critical to the success of this campaign,” Miller said. “She is absolutely a force to be reckoned with nationally. I absolutely will support her in her endeavors.”
“A new Vanity Fair profile by Michael Joseph Gross suggests that Palin does still cut costs by being an extremely bad tipper. The piece also resurrects the charge that she does not actually hunt, and claims that Todd had to scour the neighborhood to find some moose to put in that chili when a TV crew came to call.”
Moose Hunting in Alaska begins in October. I am pretty certain that with everything going on, the Palin’s probably didn’t have their freezer stocked and I seriously doubt the Liberal next door had any to offer.
LOL
