ROSELAND, NJ--(Marketwire - September 1, 2010) - Private sector employment decreased by 10,000 from July to August on a seasonally adjusted basis, according to the latest ADP National Employment Report® released today. The ADP National Employment Report, created by Automatic Data Processing, Inc. (ADP®), in partnership with Macroeconomic Advisers, LLC, is derived from actual payroll data and measures the change in total nonfarm private employment each month.
There, FIXED.
...or even Americans with jobs. Everyone with an income is paying down debt and saving for torrential rainy-day they see on the horizon. There aren't many employed people who are out spending on stuff. And that's an even bigger problem - or at least as big - than the hit being taken because unemployment is so high.
Very true. Of course, the Obama Administration's answer to this will be to promote another massive stimulus package this fall. I believe their plan is to use it as a wedge issue against Republicans, who will oppose it as economic lunacy (which it is) by portraying them as uninterested in the plight of the middle class.
How awful - you’re in my prayers...
There is no way we can have Millions of NEW unemployed and end up with More Tax revenues!
There is no way we can lose tens of thousands of jobs a week and still claim only 10% unemployment.
It'll hit about the middle of November. I think we have until then.
It makes me nervous because a total collapse could be considered a national emergency, and elections may be put on hold. These people play for keeps.
Expectedly FUBO
November of democrat annihilation!
How the heck can we have 400,000+ new claims for unemployment last month and only lose 10,000 jobs this month? That would sound like a great improvement, no? But that isn’t what is happening.
The dang numbers are just confusing....
It is a bit of a dilemma. If the GOP takes over Congress and things get better, Obama will get all the credit, just as Clinton did in 96. If the GOP takes over and things stay the same or don’t get better, Obama(supported by the media), will no doubt blame the GOP for the problems and say “well, if only the dems were still in power, things would be better”. No matter what happens he can’t lose.
If the dems stay in power and things get better Obama obviously benefits. The only real bad outcome for him is the dems stay in power and things get worse with him and the dems in total control(a la Carter in 80). But even if that happens, the media will say “see, the dems still held on to power even with all these bad things happening. If the GOP couldn’t win this year they have no chance in 2012”.

The important thing would be for the Republicans to keep the pipeline full of bills, forcing the Senate Democrats to say "No", or forcing Obama to veto bills.
Hire one union laborer and fire 2 others. That’s what gets done. Unions are evil.
How much toward union dues alone? Pure waste.
Change you can believe in.
those friggin census workers. I work in property management and I can’t tell you how many census workers I had to put up with. They would call and just assumed I was going to give them the info they wanted. Not! I made them make appointments, come in with credentials which I photocopied and told them the info I gave them was to the best of MY KNOWLEDGE. Annoying as they were, they would follow-up weeks later, with the same lame questions. Ugh!
nice post!
But wait! This is good news! This is improvement!
