Glenn Beck’s Rally - Glenn Beck Energizes the Right
FrontPage Magazine ^ | David Horowitz

Posted on 09/01/2010 2:18:43 AM PDT by Michael van der Galien

We all get used to things so quickly these days that we don’t reflect on how unthinkable a rally like the one staged on the anniversary of Martin Luther King’s “I Have A Dream” speech by talk show host Glenn Beck would have been as recently as two years ago. Outside the missionary environs of the pro-life movement you couldn’t have found ten people on the right – ten Republicans or ten conservatives — to march on Washington for a political rally. Marching in lock step would have seemed a collectivist act to them, almost unclean and something that only leftists and Democrats would do. The individualistic instincts of conservatives were admirable philosophically, but politically they put the cause of individual rights and the defense of the American republic at a severe disadvantage in the battles that had been joined with the collectivist left.

The gathering of 500,000 conservatives last weekend in front of the Lincoln Memorial was a triumphant step in conservatives’ effort to take back the culture – this is our civil rights march, get used to it! But it was also a historic moment in the “Great Political Awakening” that marks the development of a new and unprecedented activist conservatism in America. This new conservatism began with the Tea Party movement but its real trigger was the seizure of the federal government through electoral double-talk and political stealth by the collectivists of Obama progressivism. There is no figure on the public scene who has done more to educate millions of Americans as to the nature of this neo-communist left than the leader of Saturday’s demonstration: Glenn Beck. It is because of his exposure of the Democrats as progressive wolves in “liberal” sheep’s clothing that Glenn Beck is at top of the liberal hate lists;

Hopefully the “wake-up call” is not to late to undo all the damage the left has done over the years.

It wasn’t entirely a conservative gathering. Many of the attendees classified themselves as independents. Probably quite a few of them voted for Obama, but have now changed their minds. And even for a heathen like me, who only goes to church when someone gets married or dies, the rally still resonated with me. This nation has lost its way — perhaps returning to God is the way back, but the fact is that we are lost and we need to get back to the ethical and moral society our forefathers envisioned. We have to reclaim this nation from the evil men and women who are trying to destroy it.

>> Glenn Beck Energizes the Right

I wonder how many “Reagan Democrats” are secretly appreciating this Center-Right Liberty surge.

I think in the past few years regular folks have lost their complacency.

People always had the opinion, well it’s just the hollywood types, the lib elitists, etc. They thought all these nuts on TV were really an exception.

But with the Obama Pelosi Reid crowd, I think people are finally waking up that their right to live like Americans is really in peril.

It’s really happening now and even the most tone deaf are hearing it. The success of the left may actually be its undoing. Now the left is doing all the things they promised, been aching to do for years, people are suddenly realizing their freedoms are vanishing. They don’t like this vicious and meanspirited new world, where if you say the wrong thing or use the wrong light bulb you are destroyed.

Beck has certainly awakened me to the history of America, and I am learning more every day about some great patriots form our past.

Like he said at the rally, America has “scars”, but we are a good people, and, in the past, we have seen the wrong and try to right it.

That’s what it happening today! God bless Glenn for his work. His patriotism is causing other patriots to arise, and America will be the better for it.

It is because of his exposure of the Democrats as progressive wolves in “liberal” sheep’s clothing that Glenn Beck is at top of the liberal hate lists;

Except this is not a defining qualification to be a top leader in conservatism, the right wing, the Republican Party, political Americanism or mainstream Christianity or collective religions...

Many people are hated by the Left...

Disagreement does not provide leadership abilities...

Beck needs some positive Washingtonesk integrity and gumption on his side...

and not merely victimhood and celebrity..

“There is such a thing as a point of no return. The real question is whether he [Obama] can take us there. And that’s why I think that the fall of 2010 election are in my judgment, one of the most, if not the most important election we’ve ever held.”

“Because if he doesn’t get stopped, in this fall’s election, I don’t know how he will ever be stopped.”

......the 2010 midterm elections are one of the most, if not the most important election we’ve ever held. Because if Obama doesn’t get stopped this fall, I don’t know how he will ever be stopped....

REFERENCE Democrats face midterm meltdown
Financial Times, Edward Luce
FR Posted 8/31/10 by MissesBush

EXCERPT Barack Obama’s Democratic party faces a series of dramatic defeats at every level of government in Washington and beyond in the November midterm elections, according to leading analysts and opinion polls. The U of Virginia’s widely monitored Crystal Ball will on Wednesday forecast sweeping setbacks on Capitol Hill and the loss of a clutch of state governorships on Nov 2.

Such is the scale of the expected losses, that according to local polls, Democrats are on course to lose the governorships of left-leaning states such as Michigan and Pennsylvania..............and may be vulnerable in Illinois, long a Dem party bastion.

" Holy Allah. Illinois? Gone? Get that little twerp Rahm in here."

Glen can be amusing at times and I wish him well but I had better things to do than pay attention to what happened last weekend. Count me unenergized by Beck. I’m already fully energized by the Marxist in chief.

“you couldn’t have found 10 conservatives to march on Washington”....how do they know? Did anyone ever try?
Of course not because liberals and the MSM didn’t believe there were 10 Conservatives in America.

that sounds a bit smug. i’m glad you are energized, but isn’t our cause advanced by LOTS of people being energized and wasn’t last weekend a testament to that fact?

It seems to me that the event was largely preaching to the choir. Not that that is bad. But both the right and middle America are being energized in response to the socialists in the White House and Congress, not by Beck.

You can discount beck’s influence if you like, but i think it’s pretty obvious that he reaches a segment of the population that others do not. Not everyone is freeper-like as far as being political junkies who follow what is going on. I think beck has informed and energized a LOT of people who were casual followers of the political scene at best. And no matter that people may have been individually seething over the Marxist in the WH, beck provided a forum to vent, to do SOMETHING to demonstrate their discontent with the way things are going. And it was a visible manifestation that maybe YOU didn’t need to see, but it is not a bad thing that the MSM, the administration and others were able to see exactly how many are energized. And as someone who was there, allow me to say that it was very refreshing to be in such a large crowd of like minded individuals.
