Speaking at a news conference broadcast on live television from her campaign headquarters in Anchorage, Murkowski said "based on where we are right now, I don't see a scenario where the primary will turn out in my favor. And that is a reality that is before me at this point in time."

Put some ice on it Chris Matthews who said “Palin is poison to who she endorses”.
If my math is correct she is 70/30 at this point.
One less RINO
Cleaning the sewer one RAT and one RINO at a time. Thank you God.

Everything has consequences, including this concession. Some are good, some are bad. Here is one analysis of consequences:

My view is that this is a good result, good consequences and I join your cheer.
bout damn time.
I sent a scathing letter to the NRSC PAC regarding backing RINOS like her. Basically it’s why I don’t donate to them, or any other PAC. They keep f@@@@@g up and backing RINOs and my money is too little and too precious to waste on people who are going to give it to people I’d never personally give one penny to.
Flush the Grand Old Potty. Vote Conservative.
BUMP. We can use all the conservatives we can get!
Here are some chopped up highlights from a Slate article written the day before the election, enjoy!

Why the candidate of Sarah Palin and the Tea Party Express is losing in Alaska.
By Alexandra Gutierrez (SLATE..com) Posted Monday, Aug. 23, 2010
“UNALASKA, AlaskaOn Tuesday, in her home state, Sarah Palin’s favorite will probably get trounced. Joe Miller is widely expected to lose by a large margin to incumbent Sen. Lisa Murkowski in the Republican primaryan embarrassing defeat for the former governor, who has endorsed Miller”

“Unfortunately for him, not even Chuck Norris in his most bad-ass rolewhich is, of course, Chuck Norris in real lifecould rescue the Miller campaign. Always a long shot, Miller lags behind Murkowski, the heir to one of Alaska’s political dynasties, by double digits.
So Tuesday is likely to be a disappointment to Palin and the Tea Party Express, which has spent more than $400,000 since June on radio and television ads attacking Murkowski.”

“And Palin’s endorsement hasn’t helped, Moore adds.”
“And there are the die-hard Palin fans. “There’s always going to be that 20 percent lemming group that are going to throw themselves off a cliff for Sarah Palin up here,” says Stieren. “But you’re not going to win with 20 percent.”
“Between his formulaic messaging and constant diversions, Miller hasn’t been able to drum up much support. In his hometown of Fairbanks, the mayor and the newspaper have endorsed Murkowski. So have industry groups like the Alaska Forestry Association and United Fishermen of Alaska, along with most of the state legislature.”
Not surprisingly, Steve Wackowski, a campaign spokesman for Murkowski, agrees that backing from Palin and the Tea Party Express is more of a liability for Miller than anything else.”

LoL. The lefties at Slate and few others opinions go down in flames.
The NRSC is going to serve its own membership - that’s who makes up the NRSC. You should not expect Lisa Murkowski not to support herself in her own organization. She is a member of NRSC as an incumbent GOP Senator. You certainly should not donate to something if you don’t support their cause - which is why I advise to anyone interested in dontating to the NRSC not to donate a penny to the NRSC until the primaries are all over so none of your money can be spent in primaries against candidates you may support.
The Palins and Murkowskis may outdo the Hatfields and McCoys.
Sarah scared her uh?
“The NRSC is going to serve its own membership - thats who makes up the NRSC.”
You would have thought they had learned their lesson after the Crist debacle.
But...noooooo...
Haley Barbour has it just right. The shouldn’t support any of the nominees...incumbant or not. They should let the respective states make the decision who will be the nominee from both parties.
And...they should stay out of our state business altogether!
They had no business being involved in the Crist matter - Crist was not an incumbent or member of the NRSC. However, Haley does not have it right (in the sense of accurate) - the members of NRSC aren’t going to oppose themselves or do nothing to help themselves. Ignorance of what the NRSC is does not make for a valid argument.
Crist is the incumbant governor, but not a member of the NRSC. However, when Haley was the head of the RNC, he made a point of not getting involved in state races until after the primaries were over, and the candidates were determined. His policy is the same as head of the RGA.
I believe that, until last spring when Cornyn endorsed Crist very early, that has been the policy.
Frankly, I don’t remember another time when the Congressional committees were so involved in the primaries. But, that doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened before. My memory isn’t perfect. ;o)
