An Iranian newspaper said on Tuesday that France's first lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy deserves to die after she condemned Iran's decision to stone a woman to death for adultery.
The hardline newspaper Kayhan first labeled Bruni-Sarkozy a prostitute on Saturday after the first lady signed a petition calling for the release of Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani.
Iranian state television has also accused Bruni-Sarkozy of "immorality." And again on Tuesday, Iranian state-controlled media repeated the prostitute charge.
An Iranian foreign ministry spokesman has said the Islamic Republic does not support the media criticisms.
The attacks surfaced after Bruni-Sarkozy and several other French celebrities wrote open letters to Ashtiani pledging their support. The Iranian woman was sentenced to death by stoning after being convicted of having an 'illicit relationship' following her husband's death.
Iranian judicial authorities said Saturday they have not made a final decision in Ashtiani's case. However she remains under a death sentence and could be executed by other methods such as hanging.
Last week French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner asked the European Union to come up with new approaches to pressure Iran in the case.
Tehran's ISNA news agency said a communiqué from the Judiciary High Council of Human Rights criticized other countries for a "wrong, unfair and biased prejudgment" in the case, which has drawn international outcry.
Several hundred demonstrators carrying photos of Ashtiani marched in Paris on Saturday to protest her execution sentence. Demonstrators called her plight a women's rights issue.

I really dislike criticizing women for the way they look. I think what infuriates me about Michelle is the way the MSM media makes googoo eyes at her and keeps informing me how fashionable and beautiful she is.
She’s neither, and a dangerous socialist to boot. I dislike her intensely.
I don’t know, I agree with the French First Lady in condemning it in no uncertain terms.
Our First Lady may have asked for a chair and popcorn ... who knows.
Now that is the best caption I’ve seen this year.
My butt looks more like Carla’s.
Iranian judicial authorities said Saturday they have not made a final decision in Ashtiani's case. They've put this on the back-burner, at least for now, as they've been called in as advisors to the Human Rights Commission at the UN to consider how to handle the Arizona Illegal Immigrant law.
I remember in the movie “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” the ravishing Jessica Rabbit explained her love as “He makes me laugh.”
>>and keeps informing me how fashionable and beautiful she is<<
That’s what ticks me too.
Its interesting how American feminists arent denouncing the Iranian government.Interesting and predictable.
after she condemned Iran's decision to stone a woman to death for adulteryMeanwhile, the big news is, a single rabbi in Israel said the Abbas should be cursed by God.
If they directed their zeal for Jihad into building their countries, they would have zero poverty and be a world economic power. But instead, they choose this... What a waste of energy and time.
I’m just a guy and even I can tell... ;0)
This Islamic barbarism all could have been avoided if only the mating of reptiles and insects had been outlawed way back in the seventh century.

I think what infuriates me about Michelle is the way the MSM media makes googoo eyes at her and keeps informing me how fashionable and beautiful she is. Shes neither, and a dangerous socialist to boot. I dislike her intensely. You are right. It's the quality of character. The quality of soul. Michelle has neither.
