Iranian Media Says French First Lady Deserves Death (Michelle O Silent With Her Recipes)
The Voice of America Radio Network ^ | 8/31/10

An Iranian newspaper said on Tuesday that France's first lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy deserves to die after she condemned Iran's decision to stone a woman to death for adultery.

The hardline newspaper Kayhan first labeled Bruni-Sarkozy a prostitute on Saturday after the first lady signed a petition calling for the release of Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani.

Iranian state television has also accused Bruni-Sarkozy of "immorality." And again on Tuesday, Iranian state-controlled media repeated the prostitute charge.

An Iranian foreign ministry spokesman has said the Islamic Republic does not support the media criticisms.

The attacks surfaced after Bruni-Sarkozy and several other French celebrities wrote open letters to Ashtiani pledging their support. The Iranian woman was sentenced to death by stoning after being convicted of having an 'illicit relationship' following her husband's death.

Iranian judicial authorities said Saturday they have not made a final decision in Ashtiani's case. However she remains under a death sentence and could be executed by other methods such as hanging.

Last week French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner asked the European Union to come up with new approaches to pressure Iran in the case.

Tehran's ISNA news agency said a communiqué from the Judiciary High Council of Human Rights criticized other countries for a "wrong, unfair and biased prejudgment" in the case, which has drawn international outcry.

Several hundred demonstrators carrying photos of Ashtiani marched in Paris on Saturday to protest her execution sentence. Demonstrators called her plight a women's rights issue.

Ya know, I’m not tiny like those lovely ladies either, but I understand that a long jacket and slim skirt hides a million flaws.

If only Michelle would dress African instead of tacky, I would not insult her next to the beautiful women.

Good catch! I think you’re correct; it has been photoshopped.

I wanted to find the picture of Michelle glaring at Carla, so I Googled "Michelle Carla Bruni if looks could kill," and voila:

Power. Brains. Maybe even a little cash. He may even be funny. Don’t underestimate the importance of funny in a marriage.

Shirley Partridge was married to some really ugly dude forever. Real beauty and the beast story. He made her laugh - that was it, and enough.

Henry Kissinger has said that ‘power’ is the greatest aphrodisiac. Women are attracted to both wealth and power, no matter what the men look like.

I tried to convince SunkenCiv that French women had something to do with the extinction of the Neanderthal, lost the argument, obvious he has no experience with them.

No Carla's hot. But, I guess “hottness” isn't important to the “Religion of Peace.”

It’s too bad GM folded Pontiac. It could have named one of its wide-track models after Michelle.

White House calling: Michelle Obama wants one of Bunmi Olaye’s coats......

Bunmi Olaye’s warrior-like woman collection (pictured above). Inspired by the mysterious, men-only Leopard Masquerade cult of the Efik tribe in the Nigerian province of Calabar, mixed with references to the high-collars, tight waists and voluminous sleeves of the Victorian era The look plays with proportions, gorgeous colours, vibrant prints with strong shoulders and enhanced waists.

And it seems this designer is already mixing in the right circles. Last year she established her own label which now has a celebrity client list which includes Mel B (Spice Girl), Mischa Barton, Alesha Dixon and Estell.......and the WH called to order a coat.

A Nigerean native, Bunmi already seems to be making at least small waves. Her experience w/ Alexander McQueen is evident in her designs. Slated to show at Africa Fashion Week later this month, Bunmi was asked to explain her collection: "The collection explores the feeling of a warrior-like woman in power. " Even if she doesn't find herself a star in the international industry, there's no doubt that Bunmi'll find herself a rightful place in African fashion.
