GOP's Hatch backs N.Y. mosque

Republican Sen. Orrin Hatch (Utah) this week became one of the most prominent members of his party to voice his support for the Lower Manhattan mosque.

In a local television interview over the weekend, Hatch said developers have the right to build the proposed Park51 Islamic center, which includes a mosque, two blocks from the site of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

"If the Muslims own that property — that private property and they want to build a Mosque there, they should have the right to do so," said Hatch, who is a Mormon. "The only question is, are they being insensitive to those who suffered the loss of loved ones? We know there are Muslims killed on 9/11, too, and we know it's a great religion."

Of course, Hatch is saying this: he's not up for re-election until 2012.

We know there are (sic) Muslims killed on 9/11

Yes, they were flying the planes. Should we cry for them as well?

why should anyone that lives in utah give a crap if nitwit newyorkers want to die...?

i am sure that the average utah voter sees anything that could potentially destroy new york as nothing but positive.

gets him press time for free, and will not effect his poll in the least.

Hatch has a very Conservative nature, but he is so non-confrontational that it is often frustrating.

We need people who are willing to take tough, un-PC stands when the times call for such stands. Hatch is a good man, and a more reliable Conservative than not; but he lacks spine.

There are a bunch of bold candidates this time around, with fresh faces and new blood. I can’t wait for them to get to work.

The only question is, are they a totalitarian anti-freedom, anti-truth, anti-individual, anti-life collective? Hatch a thought, a philosophy Orrin.

You can always bank on Hatch selling out to reach across the aisle to help his Senate buddies. Time and time again Orrin Hatch has sold out on the Judiciary Committee. He holds his Senate buddies in far greater esteem than his constituents or anything else. Hatch's first priority is the Senate Club.

How long has this guy been in office? 200, 300 years?

Oh sure, it’s a great religion.

Let’s see -
They stone their women to death for looking at another man.
They mutilate their women so they cannot climax.
They make their women wear hoods to hide their faces.
They make their women walk behind them.
If you are not one of them you are their enemy, worthy of death.

I cannot even guess what other barbaric things they do.
Sure. It’s a great religion. If you’re a savage primate.

2012 is the year for Utah to retire Hatch and send a true conservative to DC.

“Of course, Hatch is saying this: he’s not up for re-election until 2012.”

We must oust this guy along with Lugar and all the other RINOS. Start a savings account now to help fund their primary opponents when they are up for reelection.
