Update on Numbers At Beck's Washington Rally?
self | 08/30/2010 | self

My apologies for the vanity. I've been trying to get some updates on the number of attendees at the Restoring Honor rally in DC this past weekend. Does anyone have any news, or has GB announced a definitive count?

I can’t remember the site, it was a conservative one, had a professional do one and he came up with about 239,000 using sqr footage and average densities.

239,000?.. WRONG. I think he omitted the “x 2” part of the equation.

We watched Glenn today. He said the number was like 500,000. Keep watching his show this week...he is going to do a layover photo or something for a comparison. His show was great today.

On Beck’s tv show he said they are having a more scientific
study done based on the photos.

MSM estimates are based on trash density samples.

MSM reports that only two showed for the Beck rally.

Michael Savage tonight was very respectful of the Restore Honor rally. He invited callers who attended. Michael's count was well over 500 thousand. He was outraged that the media bypassed accurate coverage of the event. We are in trouble. Big trouble when our “free” press ignores us.

Yes! He has a photos of a obambi rally that the MSM and others agree that 100,000 attended. Beck said he will do an over lay of obambi’s 100,000 onto his rally photos and we will be able to see how many of the agreed upon 100,000 rally fit into his rally.

I prefer to think that it is they who are in for trouble.

Record inaugural crowds on National Mall, USAToday.com

The National Park Service no longer does crowd estimates due to a debacle over estimates for the Million Man March. But you could probably use the above graphic to get a handle on the crowd size. I was there. The entire area from the WWII Memorial to the Lincoln Memorial was packed and it spilled over onto the hill leading up to the Washington Monument.

Yeah, I kind of thought that because we don’t need them to tell us what is news today.

Let me add that a lot of the area between the two tree lines running left to right is a reflecting pool. But you could still probably fit 80-100 K around the pool between the tree lines. The area above the tree lines was close to packed.

The “mainstream media” of the Clinton years is the fringe dinosaur media of today. They’re hanging on to relevancy with the uneducated and the lunatics, and they’re time for self-congratulation is almost over.

My estimate, and I was there, is about 600,000. No I could not count everyone but going by the fact that MOST of the people were taking shade under the trees and tree lines on both sides, no picture does justice to the number. The people were standing shoulder to shoulder, chest to back and it was a very emotional experience for all. I was able to make my way from about midway on the North side to the stage and behind (where I took many pictures) and the crowd was well behaved and were silently listening to the program.

Anyone who disputes this has an agenda to minimize Glenn Beck's impact on the day. I met people from all over the USA, from Washington State, California to Maine and Florida.
I was amazed at how many young people were with their parents. There were a few instances where the crowd would have to part to allow an ambulance to pass to help someone and all returned to their positions in an orderly fashion.
A fellow visitor said he had brought a plastic bag to pick up trash but none was found. The only unsightly mess was around the wire baskets that were woefully inadequate to hold the discarded trash. Said overflow was NEATLY place around the basket.
