Thousands of people have already poured into Washington, D.C. for a Saturday rally organized by conservative radio and television commentator Glenn Beck.
SNIP
Although camping is illegal on the National Mall, hundreds of people are choosing to spend the night on the grassy lawn of the Mall on both sides of the Reflecting Pool. They are doing that to get a better view on Saturday. Police say, as long as people remain awake, they may stay.
(Check out the video report of the crowd and Beck's pre-rally visit to the site at the source link. In the video, the reporter says there are equally large numbers of people in the hundreds on either side of the Reflecting Pool, hence I put the campers at a thousand.)

Thank you so much for the links.
I wish I was there—I am in spirit as is every right thinking American. I pray for Glenn Beck—keep him and Sarah Palin safe and let the world know—should any harm come to them it will be as the shots heard round the world. Such an act could well be the start of Revolution II. The media will say its all Beck’s ego and somehow racist—they fail to see the truth of his movement.
I’ll be there in a couple of hours!
Weather for today - sunny, high 85, low 65.
In my view, Glenn Beck has morphed into a libertarian preacher. Say it, brother!!
Hmmm, is Al Sharpton ever described as a ‘left-wing talk show host’. Probably not, the MSM probably doesn’t even know that Sharpton has a radio show.
6:30 am. Crowd is packed along both aides of reflecting pool 3/4 of the way to wwII memorial

God Bless all those who are attending today the rally of honor. I cannot be to either to this one or the one for September 12th, 2010, but is there is spirit.
I just clicked on the camera on Const. Ave north of the Reflecting Pool and saw a taxi disembark 4 rally attendees.
Well just heard a top of the hour news report of Obama calling on Americans to support our military and to go to a special site at White House site to say thank-you to our troops. Amazing.
>>True story. Al Sharpton walked up the steps to speak at one of our pro-victory rallies at the Washington Monument before someone stopped him and told him the commie antiwar rally he was scheduled to speak at was further down the Mall. If I had seen that I would have put him on stage :-)
That would have been priceless! A missed opportunity for sure!
I hope someone is assigned to get every word Sharpton utters today on-camera. He’s likely to produce some gems.
If my memory is correct, Tony LaRussa is involved also in animal rescue. It all got started when a stray cat came into the baseball field and he took the cat in. I think he started an animal rescue or is involved with a animal rescue group.
Ditto what you said...re: Beck...enjoy listening to him; very educational IMHO.

LMAO..for Obama it is to little to late. Last night at the Divine Destiny at the Kennedy center...the prayer and the speeches to honor are military and bring honor back to us individuals (like the honor the military has) was great!
. . . Glen Beck IS the modern day Paul Revere and the ALARM IS BEING SOUNDED ,, wake up America ,, it’s Saturday morning Aug. 28 2010 and the revolution has begun ,, the silent majority is on the move and silent no longer . God please protect Glenn Beck and all the patriotic standard bearers on this great day in American history .
Thanks for that link to the live camera there. It is amazing to watch. Every time the cars stop crossing, huge groups of rally attenders cross the street. Wish there were people counters on the road.

It’s an hour and a half ‘til showtime. Crowd is packed along both sides of reflecting pool from Lincoln to WWII memorial including the lawn just south of the pool. Crowd is starting to fill in lawn @ Wash. Monument. I estimate 300k+ and no sign of slowing.
