They are in effect forcing the tobacco companies to sell to Indians at a higher rate then they sell to anyone else.

Good for them. sell their own cigarettes under their own names, such as : Marlbouro, Cool, Winstom, Kamel, Eave, Tonto, Chief, Buffalo Dung, Tee-Pee-Pee, Peace Pipe Tobacco, Zig Zog cigarette papers. The possibilities are endless.

While the state gets none of that money, advocates say it levels the playing field for non-Indian merchants by taking away the price advantage tribes enjoy with untaxed cigarettes.,

I heard a story one time about the Seminoles in South Florida
when they wanted to erect a bingo parlor and the State said “no”.
The tribe quickly erected wooden barricades across U.S. Hwy 441/State Road 7
(which ran through their reservation) and began to collect tolls from passing cars.
Approval of the bingo parlor came quickly.
I wish I know if that story was true.
