We at Intersections are deeply saddened by the stabbing incident on Tuesday evening, perpetrated against a Muslim New York City cab driver. Our earnest prayers are extended to the victim, Mr. Ahmed Sharif, for a full and speedy recovery. There is no place in this city, or anywhere else, for such senseless acts of violence.
We are further saddened that the person charged with this crime, Michael Enright, has been a volunteer with Intersections for the past year.
Mike’s work with us was generous and responsible.
He shared our vision for a diverse and peaceful world and our prayers go out to him and his family as well. This unfathomable incident is profoundly sad on many levels.
Intersection’s core mission is tied to interfaith dialogue and cross cultural cooperation, especially with our Muslim brothers and sisters. We deplore violence and any act that may be categorized as a hate crime. We will continue to work tirelessly to forge common ground among those who differ so that together we can build a city where God’s rich human mosaic is lived out in harmony, and free of fear and violence.

The level of outrage (OUTRAGE!!) just does not even ‘feel’ right. If it was real the lib media would be losing their monds over this.

I’m wondering that too. It makes no sense. The only thing that makes me not sure it’s a deliberate and premeditated hoax is that someone is actually under arrest and being charged. Unless this kid was set up and was too drunk to remember.
I think they know enough backstory to steer clear. If this had happened somewhere other than NYC, there would have been a feeding frenzy until the backstory could get up to "headquarters." In this case, the incident happened "at headquarters," so the feeding frenzy got choked off.
No I dont think so....the cabby was against the mosque...I think the guy stabbed him for it after a heated argument about the mosque...notice the insult in arabic before the stabbing.....
I suspect He was attacked for not being a “true muslim”...
Call it a hunch...
Is it possible that the hoax part was that this guy didn’t expect to get caught and that then it would be blamed on those oppsoing the Ground Zero mosque?
Now that he is caught it makes little sense unless he was hoping to frame this attack on someone else.
That is an interesting take on this as well.
Anyone know the purpose of that meeting or even if there really was a meeting planned?

Understand that this IS how many on the left think. Even more so for those in power. There is no doubt that if they could pull off some huge environmental disaster in order to curb our use of “fossil” fuels, they’d do it.
Normally I'm not THAT suspicious, but the fact that this kid seems to have been a Leftie that spent time in Afghanistan makes me wonder if he's a patsy.
I thought I heard on Fox that the cabbie opposed the mosque but wasn't sure.
The thought crossed my mind that we could have a loony white guy freaking out because the muslim he thinks should be all grateful didn't agree.

I think the punk flipped out when he found out the driver didnt support the mosque...”are you a muslim?”...Assalamu alaikum!...consider this a checkpoint!”...then stabs the guy..
Just as a side note, I heard they finally figured out the motivation of the Ft Hood shooter.
Witnesses reported that he was yelling “Allahu Akbar” while he shot people, incorrectly leading to the conclusion that he was doing this as part of an Islamic jihad.
After examining the audio, the FBI determined that he was angry because the line was too long at the commissary. He was actually yelling “all a’ you at the snack bar!”
I’m wondering if the stabber is a muslim convert...
