Burn the Quran Day Plan Prompts Warnings of Anger, Unrest Wednesday, August 25, 2010 By Patrick Goodenough, International Editor
SNIPPET: "(CNSNews.com) The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) has joined the growing condemnation of plans by a Florida church to burn copies of the Quran on the 9th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks.
A spokesman for the Jeddah-based bloc of Islamic states expressed concern Tuesday that the planned action by the Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville would stir up anger across the Muslim world and provoke unrest.
The OIC said it hoped the U.S. government would take appropriate steps to protect the sacred religious sentiments of Muslims of America and of the Muslims across the world."
SNIPPET: "The initiatives Facebook page, International Burn a Koran Day, had attracted 6,000 supporters as of early Wednesday.
Jones is the author of a controversial book entitled Islam Is of the Devil, and the churchs Web site lists ten reasons why it thinks the Quran should be burned."

Me too. Plus I plan on frying a pound of bacon in it's flames!
As little regard as I have for the teachings of Islam, this is moronic behavior. Imagine how we would view a mosque in Dearborn having a Burn a Bible Day.
Yeah, where’s Couric, Lupica, Bloomin Idiot et al . . those ardent defenders of the First Amendment?
>> I may buy my own & participate.
Burning is attractive, but I may opt for the lasting satisfaction of using a couple pages at a time as TP. Save money, too, if I can get one cheap. There’s a stupid islamic center down the road; maybe I’ll ask them for a free copy!
Download from here, print a few pages, and burn all you want. Or have some spare TP.

Burn baby, Burn!!!!!
Adnan left one in the store the other day. I burned it already.
So I’ve done my part.
A Christian church should not be doing this just to aggravate the Muslims.
Burn baby Burn...

Agreed...even if the Koran is a bloody & violent book.
On the 4th of July, many of us visited the outhouse on the farm where the koran was available for toilet paper. It was a little slick but the feeling was great.

“Abu Dujanah Al-Khorasani Brigade Claims Responsibility for Sending Tear Gas Letter to Paris Embassy” Submitted by Cerise Negulici on Thu, 08/05/2010 - 11:58
SNIPPET: “According to a message post, the formerly unidentified Abu Dujanah al-Khorasani Brigade has accepted that it was responsible for sending out a tear gas letter to the embassy, last week. It was reported that the two workers of the embassy, who held the letter, underwent a check-up and were then discharged by the city hospital.
The French officials are examining the July 30 episode, Paul Patin said on Wednesday. It was deemed that the letter had traces of tear gas. But a senior U. S. executive, who wants to remain anonymous, said that according to the latest reports that have arrived at Washington, the alleged letter did not have tear gas or any other toxin.”

Now, if they announced it just to get Muslims there to witness to them and actually had no intention of burning a Koran, well, it’s kind of provocative, but I’m of mixed emotions about the method.
Why not burn a Koran?
ow burning a Koran wouldn't bother me at all.
Isn't that a form of free speech as is flag burning?
Oh, I forgot. Liberals have different standards. Burning the Koran would be “hate speech” but burning the flag isn't. Isn't that how it goes?

Its also therapeutic and would feel really, really good.
HOWEVER, Christians are not to do things just to provoke another to react in anger. If the pastor’s intention is to make a political statement, then he should do it as a private citizen, not as a representative of Jesus Christ.
The natives ARE restless. Does koran combustion keep mosquitoes away?
Would the fire department and other clowns have reacted the same way if it was a FLAG BURNING event?
I doubt it. They're USED to that.
When it comes to burning a Koran, we must be SENSITIVE and not ANTAGONIZE them. But it's okay to ANTAGONIZE Vets and our military as they burn AMERICAN FLAGS or disrespect our flag, routinely in other ways.
Yes, you can die, be maimed or come back whole from serving in our military but it's okay to disrespect out flag. OTOH every single one of those involved with 9/11 was a Muslim and we are supposed to show the ultimate respect and sensitivity as they stab us in the heart and try to build a mosque where they slaughtered over 3,000 people.
