Margaret Hamburg wants “new authority” over imported food, because of the Iowa egg thingee....
.gov financial regulators have SCADS of authority to throw Banksters & Wall Street shysters in jail, but how many went to the Big House over the meltdown?
Hmmmmmmmmm?
Oops! They ALWAYS want "more authority", but they only use it against their enemies & the peasants.
FDA is too busy trying to find oily seafood in the Gulf, while people are dropping like flies with salmonella poisoning because of tainted eggs from Iowa farms that have been repeatedly fined for filthy operations.
This is government “safety” at its finest. And as usual, the excuse is that the taxpayer needs to kick in more money so the grossly over-paid government hacks will do a better job of the job they aren’t doing now.
Wesley Mooch: “I NEED MORE POWER!”..........................
Is this setting the stage for proceeding with Senate Bill: S510? It is out of committee and could come up for a vote. The bill would outlaw us from growing (& consuming), giving away, selling, etc our own vegetables. Goodbye to all the farmer’s markets across this nation.
In a word, YES
We already have (here in Maine) a state ag person who has tried to take tighter control of persons selling eggs and chickens. When we ask by what authority, she quotes federal regs from the FDA. We say that is not applicable because there is no inter-state commerce involved. She says we are changing the subject, and “should think of the sick children.” It’s hard to fight stupid.
ya shake down more companies
Not at all unexpected. I've been waiting for this ever since the FDA started sending investigators to Amish farms for selling milk to people who want to buy it.
They do indeed seek total control over food production -
it’s part of the overall control agenda.
The FDA, recently, has conducted “test raids” of farmers who have shown the audacity of living an independent life.
Not working so hard on the corexit/oily seafood.
