PORT-AU-PRINCE, HAITI Singer Wyclef Jean's high-profile bid for Haiti's presidency ended after election officials on the earthquake-ravaged Caribbean nation disqualified his candidacy.
The Haitian-American hip hop star expressed disappointment at the late Friday ruling, but called on his followers to act "peacefully and responsibly."

"Haiti's electoral commission did not say why it had disqualified Jean, but the singer had faced a challenge to his candidacy in the Nov. 28 elections because he has not lived in Haiti for the past five years as required."
Shouldn't he have checked this before he "ran"?
Sean Penn was on Larry King not pleased about Wyclef, so for me I was all of a sudden for him!
Has anyone asked just what bubba has done with his authority to administer the funds for Haiti?
Seems to me there is absolutely no improvement in the conditions in Haiti. People living in tents with no hope or help in sight.

Returning Haiti’s agrarian status would be a good first step.
