Politics: President Obama hit a new low in using a recess appointment to name Maria del Carmen Aponte as U.S. envoy to El Salvador. The radical has consorted with Cuban spies but will be taking no questions.
Dismissing three congressional holds on Aponte's ambassadorial confirmation as "playing politics," Obama used his vacation to slip Aponte through to represent the U.S. to the strategic Central American country, without a vote in Congress.
That gives Aponte, a campaign contributor aligned to the immigration lobby, access to top-secret information as a political reward.
But Aponte's past is one big red flag. From 1982 to 1994 Aponte lived with a man who worked closely with the Cuban Mission to the U.N. and allegedly was a spy.
Aponte claims her ties to the Cubans were just "social," but Cuban spies working in the surveillance hotbed of New York don't waste time on things "social."
They trawl left-wing community groups for potential agents of influence, seeking ideological affinity and common interests. That's how they recruited another Puerto Rican of similar background, Ana Montes, who was convicted of spying in 2002.
The FBI spotted this problem in Aponte's resume in 1994 when she made conflicting statements to the agency and refused to take a polygraph. As a result, she withdrew her nomination as ambassador to the Dominican Republic during the Clinton administration.

As long as the public pays for cable and sat TV - they are in control. TV controls america. And every network owns every channel and they ALL support Obama.

Oh my God ... I met John in person at CPAC this year, after a couple of phone calls and many messages on FR over the years. He was indeed a great American.

Thanks. People blast me and think I am a nut but TV has a hold on America. The 5 networks own almost all of the 200 or so cable channels. It is all pro-obama.
People think I am attacking mom and apple pie. I cancelled TV. I had to baby sit a few pets for a relative for two days. I picked up the clicker. It is like crack cocaine.
I turned it off after 30 minutes and never touched it again. I counted about 3 dumb white guy commercials in a row and that was it. I think every Fed Ex commercial is a dumb white guy ad. Odd cause Fred Smith of Fed Ex is a conservative. Ex-Vietnam pilot and business genius.

Obama appoints another far, far leftist to an important position. And I am not supposed to assume he’s a socialist. Feh!
This is really, really one of the most “in your face” outrages yet. Jaw dropping.
