But it's the fiction book, not any books about real freedom like some on this list. Does he keep making decisions like this out of instinct or on purpose?

From the AP:

Obama heads to bookstore at start of vacation

Btw, the date of the article is August 20, not the date of any of the other vacations Obama has taken in just the past five weeks.

President Barack Obama began his 10-day vacation on a studious note Friday, stopping at a Martha's Vineyard bookstore before indulging his sporting side at the golf course.

You'd think he'd be indulging in a real sporting side - like making a baseball go 60 feet, six inches.

For himself, the president bought "Freedom" by Jonathan Franzen, aides said.

The author of Freedom promoted it on Oprah. It’s a piece of fiction....bits and pieces from everyday events.

I have a feeling Michelle doesn’t allow that, what with her hectoring kids to eat health food.

Notice that the little one's hand is clenched and the big one doesn't look happy.

He should have picked up “Capitalism and Freedom” by Milton Friedman.

For someone who enjoys books as I do, nothing will ever replace opening a new book.

She sure is gonna be tall! Hope she knows how to play hoops, seeing as how Bambi is just an ordinary American worried about the kids’ college funds and could probably use a BB scholarship.

My gut feeling is that the enormous older one and the chubby younger one are not getting along. I think physical fights led to the gigantic one being sent away somewhere. Now she looks pissed off. Nice purple shoes with no laces. They are so trashy looking. I’m sorry, but they are.

Last week Neil Cavuto showed Obama carrying a copy of The Survivors Club while golfing!! Neil had never heard of it. Glenn Beck has had the author, Ben Sherwood, on several times. It’s a fascinating book. The sales skyrocketed after Beck’s program! Maybe Obama is trying to figure out how he is going to survive the devastation he is so busy creating.

I hope Obummer enjoyed his dip in the “gulf”, because he won’t be doing any swimming at Martha’s Vineyard where his fancy rental is...the beach is closed from fecal contamination.

Those poor kids never look happy, always looking down. I think Malia is probably just mad because her sister got to go on all those other vacations while she had to be at camp. And she’s gonna make sure everybody knows it! She is kind of at that age, too.
