Obama tries to boost faith in US economic revival

President Barack Obama held a kitchen table summit to try to restore Middle America's sinking faith in his administration's ability to revive the lackluster US economy. The souring economy and stubbornly high unemployment have seen Obama's poll numbers slump to all-time lows and they are threatening to drag down his fellow Democrats in looming mid-term elections in November.

In the rustbelt city of Columbus, Ohio, Obama sat down with the Weithman family, who he said were typical of how Americans across the country were benefiting from his economic policies.

Thanks to an expansion of stop-gap medical coverage -- a key provision of his hard-fought health care reform bill -- Obama said she was able to "keep her health insurance at a time when the family was very much in need."

What a crock, tell that to her, she is desperate!

Isn't going to happen. The economy is driven by businesses large and small. hussein is a socialist and the most anti-business President we've ever had. (also the worst by far in any category you care to name) So there will be no economic recovery while a tax-and-spend socialist is in charge in the White House, and tax-and-spend socialists control Congress. We can (and God willing, will) take care of part of the problem this November. However, the lame-ducks will probably go out with a lot more damage to the economy and our liberties. Hopefully the GOP controlled Congress can hold the line against further losses until 2012 when we can get a new President in there. (paging Sarah Palin!)

How ironic is it that this scumbag Ubama now wants to “boost faith in US economic revival” after he and the rest of the rat litter spent eight years trashing the economy while Bush was president and unemployment was around 5%? Screw them... we are at the beginning of another great depression and we need to shout it to the heavens so people with a clue can hunker down and prepare.

U-1 Persons unemployed 15 weeks or longer, as a percent of the civilian labor force

U-2 Job losers and persons who completed temporary jobs, as a percent of the civilian labor force

U-3 Total unemployed, as a percent of the civilian labor force (official unemployment rate)

U-4 Total unemployed plus discouraged workers, as a percent of the civilian labor force plus discouraged workers

U-5 Total unemployed, plus discouraged workers, plus all other persons marginally attached to the labor force, as a percent of the civilian labor force plus all persons marginally attached to the labor force

U-6 Total unemployed, plus all persons marginally attached to the labor force, plus total employed part time for economic reasons, as a percent of the civilian labor force plus all persons marginally attached to the labor force

NOTE: Persons marginally attached to the labor force are those who currently are neither working nor looking for work but indicate that they want and are available for a job and have looked for work sometime in the past 12 months. Discouraged workers, a subset of the marginally attached, have given a job-market related reason for not currently looking for work. Persons employed part time for economic reasons are those who want and are available for full-time work but have had to settle for a part-time schedule.
