"I've never even seen the original John Wayne movie" Matt Damon, who plays Glen Campbell's old role of LaBeouf in this new version, told Entertainment Weekly.

I hope this movie fails BADLY.
Rooster Cogburn was John Wayne’s role and will be for the ages.
Some movies should never be remade. “True Grit” is in the top tier.

Matt Damon couldn’t clean the manure off one of John Wayne’s boots.

Jeff Bridges is a huge lib. His old man was actually a commie.

The John Wayne version of ‘True Grit’ wasn’t that great. He was doing self parody and should have won an Oscar for his great work with John Ford or Howard Hawks.

Jeff Bridges as Rooster Cogburn is such good casting. I will definitely treat myself to this film in December.

John Wayne’s not dead - he’s frozen. And as soon as we find the cure for cancer we’re gonna thaw out the Duke and he’s gonna be pretty pissed off. You know why? Have you ever taken a cold shower? Well multiple that by 15-million times, that’s how pissed off the Duke’s gonna be.

I have one rule in life:
I don't see Matt Damon films.
That's about it.

I would be more apt to see that movie, than the one coming out about Thor the Norse God, or the Wonder Woman fiasco.

Well, these pansies can do what they want but they will run up against a singular fact of nature: John Wayne Is Rooster Cogburn. Anyone who tries to override this fact will fail, and embarrass himself in the attempt.
To: GOPsterinMA
John Wayne is rolling over in his grave.

Well, if it has elements of black humor ala’ Fargo and Miller’s Crossing, I’ll definitely watch it. I wish they’d add Steve Buscemi, too.
