It was 6 or 7 when Newt and the boys took over in 94'

Nope. The Generic Congressional Ballot was a dead heat, just before the '94 mid-term elections. Someone just posted the Gallup graph from that time period on another thread.

In fact, the Democrats were AHEAD in mid-August of that year, which should tell all of us a lot about what's about to happen to them.

Aboslute truth. The power to approve SC justices
is the most destructive power the current Senate has.

No other issue is more important.

This should pep you up:

“The Generic Ballot results were much different during the last two election cycles when Democrats regularly had large leads. When President Obama was inaugurated in January 2009, Democrats enjoyed a seven-point advantage.”

Imagine what it would look like if the Republicans were actually able to articulate (and the media report) a coherent, cohesive message.

Can be bigger margins and not a shifting of seats. The result of decades of gerrymandering.

What people are forgetting are the governor seats and state houses. GOP stands to make BIG gains there as well. This will effect congressional districts/redistricting for many years to come.

Windflier, Thank you, I stand corrected.

Now the fish pills kick in :-)....

IIRC, The RNC was normally down 6 to 7 % so the dead even was huge in 94'. One, is my read-back correct on this, and 2 if it is, what does a 12 point spread say.... "H@ly $&!+ batman....

Actually in 94, the Dems were up 1 or dead even.

Historically ever when the GOP does well they are still 3-4 points behind. So this tells you all you need to know.

It could be a tidal wave.

Yes it will, I have posted this here and Hugh Hewitt is talking about it all the time as is Levin and I think Bennett, but read this about some down ticket ballots:

Indeed, it does. There are going to be a lot of moonbats wailing and gnashing their teeth in a few months.

We're already starting to see that tone in some of the left-wing press articles. Lots of them are beginning to sound whiney and apologetic. First sign of defeat.

Ping!!!

The five point gain for the GOP compared to last week is probably right at the edge of the margin of error, i.e., most likely a real gain for the GOP in the last week.

Could be that O's announcement favoring the mosque near Ground Zero had some immediate effect on the previously undecideds. Bad economic news could have been a factor as well.

This seems too good to be true. If Republicans do sweep, I hope they realize it’s not because of anything they’ve done, but because Obama-Pelosi-Reid overreached so drastically.

Great news; and I have confidence in Rasmussen polling. Gallup is left-wing.

Its not being reflected in current House polling, even through trend lines. That makes no sense.
That's because most Americans say: "Throw the bums out...but not 'my' bum." They want all incumbents defeated except theirs.

Dem Pollster, Pat Caddell, was just on Sean Hannity's program. He made two statements re: Obama supporting the Mosque being built at Ground Zero:
1. He (Obama) is about to blow up the Democratic Party.
2. They (Democrats) will pay a high price.

Part of it is the mosque, but part of it is the drip, drip, drip of news that continues to open people’s eyes.
