Yes, children Sarah Palin really can become president of the United States.
Take a look at yesterday's CNN poll.
It shows Mitt Romney just three points ahead of Irish American Palin right before the kickoff for the 2012 republican nomination which begins the day after the November mid-terms.
That three points is within the margin of error.
It is also within the margin of error of those pundits who say that Palin has no chance to be selected.
They are dead wrong and this poll bears that out.
This poll says otherwise, as do a slew of results, including last week's primary in Colorado which showed the grassroots activists in the party are not going to settle for the status quo and whoever the head office is pushing.
That is bad news indeed, for Mitt Romney who is the anointed one.
He is a very skilled politician, who was an excellent governor of Massachusetts and did an amazing job with the Olympic Winter Games in his native Utah.
By right he should be the front runner.
But he's stuck in neutral, not ever drawing the kind of love from the grassroots that Palin can engender just by showing up.
Americans are mad as hell over what has happened to their economy and that throws the 2012 race wide open at this point.
Palin has a realistic shot if she decides to run.
Right now she'd be my favorite to win the Republican nomination.
I've written this before and now the CNN poll bears it out.
In this current deeply unsettled political climate President Palin is not far-fetched at all.
Remember you read it here.
This article doesn’t make any sense.
“By right he should be the front runner.”
First, there is no “right”. If there is one it would be to Palin who was the VP candidate in ‘08. Second, according to this poll Romney IS the frontrunner, if by 3 points. Plus the margin of error is 3 and that means there is as good a chance Romeny is up by 6 as it could be even.
Palin, by “right” of her Irish heritage and evangelical Christian (meaning Non-Mormon) foundation is the “annointed one” of Ireland. Big deal.
I don't know about that. Sean's been worshiping at the alter of Newt Gingrich as long as I can remember. Before he ever had Newt on the show, he used to talk about him all the time. Once he got him to come on, he turned him into a regular feature.
I think he did that to give Newt a live connection to the voters. It's one of the reasons that I had to stop listening on a regular basis. That, and the fact that Sean can just be plain irritating after a while.
What we need to know now is what the Program, Plan, and Leader are going to be to first contain, and then reverse the damage. IOW, the "yakkers" might consider a switch from Negative to +.
That's hard to do when you've got someone like Obama in the Oval Office. We've never seen anything like this man before. Not a day goes by that he doesn't do or say something that offends or enrages us. If the talkers didn't talk about these things, they would appear to be covering for Zero. The MSM already zips their lips on the worst of Zero's transgressions.
But, I hear what you say. It all wears you down after a while. Comes a point where you want to hear people start talking about what we're going to do about it. I think the talkers spend a good deal of time in that area, but they're really not political organizers. They're commentators.
I don't know if these guys see the full scope of the societal change that's occurring right in front of them. The people are in a pre-revolutionary stage. The Tea Parties are only the most visible manifestation of this mindset. Those who are truly observant, see that the fight has now gone beyond politics. We're actually in a new cultural era that calls for a very different kind of public voice. We need voices more like Thomas Paine's.
Those voices are out there, but they don't have the mulit-million dollar microphones. Those who do, had better catch up before they become artifacts of a time gone by.
“Sarah won’t make those mistakes again.z’
No, she won’t, because she’s smart.
Maybe, but if she runs against Hussein, I know a lot of people who feel the same as you and would crawl over broken glass to vote for her.

My political pursuasion? Somwhere considerably to the right of Jesse Helms. I consider Murray Rothbard a statist and Ayn Rand dangerously concilliatory. The likes of Beck and Limbaugh? They might as well be Marxists as far as I'm concerned.
Hopefully that answers your question.
But I've come to accept that few politicians as conservative as I am will get very far. I like DeMint a lot among today's pols, though on a 100% conservatism scale I'd put him at about a 50%. Still not passing but as good as it's likely to get.
Even by the standards of politicians, by the way, Sarah isn't all that conservative. Her special pleadings on behalf of "special needs" kids speaks to a kind of "compassionate conservatism" nonsense that I had more than enough of from the Bushes, thank you. Just because she has such a child, she accepts the idea of government funding for them? Can someone please point to the provision of the Constitution that justifies this?
But again, whoever the GOP nominates won't be as conservative as I would like. I would hope, though, that the nominee would be able to articulate the case for limited government in a solid way.
I would hope that the nominee would be able understand and articulate what the Founding Fathers intended and explain the philosphical drift away from those intentions and why it matters. Someone with a theory of governance more sophisticated than anything Palin has expressed.
Hank
Beck and Limbaugh?
Limbaugh is conservative.
” So one is ignorant of the world if one cannot point out a Japanese island on a map?
“
We’re talking one of the 4 largest islands my dear , and the home to Nagasaki . Surly you’ve heard of it ?
” Palin’s trying hard to be part of that old boy network now... Look at her support of McCain over Hayworth, and for Lindsey Graham for cryin’ out loud . She also has been deafeningly silent on the eligibility issue. She would never have been on the McCain ticket or given a position at Fox News if she weren’t on the establishment plantation and politically correct enough for the elites. They are only trying to give us the semblance of a choice in portraying her as the nemesis of big government. She’s just another super ambitious political hack doing whatever she needs to to get ahead.”
I kind of agree, she’s losing some the alure for me. I want her to run but it would have better for her to have disappeared for a while and then arrive back on the scene like a bolt of lightening.
I understand. I was exaggerating a tad to make my point when asked about my “political pursuasion.” Compared to me Limbaugh IS a leftist.
Hank
I do not think she is presidential material
____________________________________________________________
Somebody please tell me; what the hell is “presidential material”.
I guess the Marxist Muslim, B. Hussein Obama is prez material.
I guess the Arkansas Hillbilly Huckster is prez material.
I guess the “stand by my man for political expediency”, Hillary Clinton is prez material.
I guess the adulterer, liar, and phony John Edwards is prez material.
I guess the cussing, vulgar, drunken, foot-in-the mouth Joe Biden is prez material.
I guess the great “misspeak” artist Ross Perot is prez material.
I guess the Rudy “I don’t know why my children hate my guts” Giuliani is prez material.
I guess the adulterous Newt Gingrich who left his wife with cancer for his whore is prez material.....
Do I need to continue this? PLEASE STOP THIS “NOT PRESIDENTIAL MATERIAL S*** !!!
I think Palin comes into the race with slightly below average experience and credentials and preternatural common sense and ability, and Reagansque principles and character. I'd love the opportunity to vote for her
I like Palin a ron, and will vote and campaign for her ardently if she wins the primary, however, my first choice so far is Thune/Christie or Thune/Ryan ticket.
Even as a fan of hers, I really dont think she grasps the role of the Federal Reserve as it relates to monetary policy and who really controls this nation.
My fear is that she would get rolled by the bankers just like Barry is.
Im not kidding, I like her, but one can be a fan and be honest at the same time in pointing out shortcomings.
I realize you were responding to sushiman; the “presidential material” comment was his. I just wanted you to read my response to him. He’s been a jerk this entire thread. My apologies if it seemed otherwise.
She doesn't have to. She would surround herself with the best minds on the subject.
She would consult with the many think tanks that constantly work on fiscal policy.
Moving crowds doth not necessarily make a bad POTUS. One need only look at Reagan for proof.
