She's appeared at Tea Party rallies across the country and long been considered the movement's de facto leader, but a new CNN poll out Friday suggests Sarah Palin isn't the group's clear favorite for the White House.

“Is there ANYBODY left who still believes CNN?
“I put more credence in Baghdad Bob...”
I’ve heard rumors that Bob J. was Baghdad Bob.
Yep. And too bad its a freeper. Sort of.
CNN seven point margin of error? Wow. CNN loses more respect every day. How it manages it, is beyond me, since they’re all but toast as it is.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Tea Party members do have some suspicions about Sarah, but at this point I don’t see a lot better than her out there either.
Mitt Romney? Newt Gingrich? CNN’s problem is that it doesn’t even know the right questions these days.
Those two have about as much chance of being president as I do, but if there’s a way for the establishment Republican party to manage it, I’ll have to eat those words.
We’ve got a guy like Obama in there, and the best we can come up with is the last three stinky fish in the barrel.
Puts a little different slant on things to know the facts and not just read the headline.
The numbers in CNN’s article are no where in the survey results for the entire year.
The results are repeated a second time on page 6, once again, not matching what CNN reported.
Good grief, this news article doesn’t even try to be accurate. They pulled the numbers out of their a**. You would have to add the sampling error to Newt’s numbers and subtract it from Palin’s numbers to match CNN’s conclusion.
When was the last time Mitt or Newt filled up a stadium, hall, etc. like Sarah does. Also, note the huge issues they make with Sarah's family like they have never done wth Gore's children on drugs; Mitt's wife's expensive clothes; Newt's aversion to illness in his wives (he has dumped two that became sick), the Kennedy's nastiness even to their own (Ted's widow being pushed out of Ted's house) and on ad naseum.
Never fear, though, when crunch time comes, all Newt's and Mitt's warts will be put under a magnifying glass.
Just like the MSM and "racism", "rich greed", "global warming", "scaring old folks about SS and Medicare if they elect Repubs,--isn't it time people caught on and grow some mental toughness to resist this crap?
vaudine
I will say that polling base decimates any value that could be derived from this poll.
2% were active Tea Party members. How about a 98% +/- degree of accuracy.
Nice of you to finally look at the data over 25 posts after you posted the original article and after many others pointed out that they didn’t match CNN’s article?
I remember the days when freepers, especially old timers, would know to look at those things *before* posting an article to make sure it was accurate.
I guess when you have an agenda, facts don’t matter.
Actually CNN did a highly structed and scientific poll that use POTA permutation with additional refinement by applying the ZSS correctional factors to achieve a 100% accuracy in polling that is so good that it does not have a margin of error.
POTA = Pulled out of their ASS
ZSS = Zogby special sauce.
:)
I won’t believe any of this until we have actual declared candidates.
I don’t think Romney is a Tea party fav.
What is CNN? If it is liberal, who cares what their poll or opinion on right stuff is?
45. (IF UNSURE:) As of today, do you lean more to Obama, the Democrat, or to a Republican candidate?
QUESTIONS 44 AND 45 COMBINED
Other No Obama Republican (vol.) opinion Registered Voters August 6-10, 2010 45% 50% 3% 1% March 25-28, 2010 47% 48% 4% 1% March 19-21, 2010 47% 47% 4% 2% All Americans August 6-10, 2010 46% 49% 3% 1% March 25-28, 2010 48% 47% 4% 1% March 19-21, 2010 48% 46% 4% 2%
Well bob, we will NEVER get rid of Obamacare with Romney. Hell, he’s the architect of the plan with his disasterous Mascare plan.
Sorry Mitt, can’t vote for a liberal thinker.
I finally found some numbers that match what CNN reported. The only place the numbers match have nothing to do with affiliations (tea party, libertarian, moderate, etc), education, income, or even location.
The ONLY place those numbers match are in a break-down by category of AGE- they match voters 50 and over. (page 6 of the report)
CNN really had to do some ‘creative’ reporting to make that somehow match what they claim.
I support Sarah fully.
But if I were to answer a poll question accurately I wouldn’t necessarily say that I would vote for her for sure. It’s way too early for that.
Again, I support Sarah in whatever she wants to do. But we don’t have all the cards on the table yet to determine who to vote for for POTUS.
This poll is meaningless page filler.
“I wouldnt be surprised if the Tea Party members do have some suspicions about Sarah, but at this point I dont see a lot better than her out there either.”
Agreed. But we still have time, I’m hoping for a star to surface (maybe Bachman?) so we don’t have to rely on all these 2008 retreads with so much baggage.
I think the data you cite includes all republicans while the statement about Palin coming in third was among those who identified themsleves as TP members or supporters.
Fox News said their polling shows fully 50% of Americans don’t want Palin as Potus. As for Newt and Romney, I don’t think they are going anywhere, except home ;-)
