TeresawithoutanH is now home....it turned out not to be easy, but she finally made it. I got there about 11a and got the lesson in changing her bandages (I’ve done it before at work), then we went to the medical supply place to get her mobile oxygen and CPAP. As she was signing papers she asked about the backpack oxygen. They said she couldn’t have that as the doctor’s orders for the increase for CPAP couldn’t support it. The box they had was on wheels, but no handles or anything. She has to be able to be mobile with it for home and coming to work. The guy showed her the orders and said he was stuck. So, finally she chose not to get it. She will call the doc on Monday and find a solution.
I got an email this morning that she took a 3 hour nap as soon as she got home and settled. Awaiting a reply to my oxygen questions.
They said she couldnt have that as the doctors orders for the increase for CPAP couldnt support it
Is she on 24/7 oxygen? And the increase for CPAP I'm not understanding here. That's only for sleeping, right? She wouldn't be packing it around! I'm confused!
....but it sounds like the doctors keep her frustrated even
from there. I pray she gets her oxygen soon.
I know she breathed a sigh of relief when she took her nap
on her OWN bed!
Glad she is finally home, I’m sure she is as well.
Will you be doing dressing changes for her?
Good luck with the oxygen solution.
