Metro Police spokesman Bill Cassell said Monday that police havent authenticated the audio, but he said he has listened to a portion of the recording.
"The recordings speak for themselves," he said. "When you listen to the recording, it demonstrates the calmness and professionalism of how the situation was handled."
Well that settles it. No investigation needed.
They calmly and professionally murdered a man.............
I’m impressed on how quickly they were able to release the video. It only took 30-some days.
So... they calmly and professionally shot and killed him?
Is that what gets the pass these day?
OK, just remember, when you shoot back, do so calmly and professionally...
They sure did "handle" the situation, didn't they.
The fix is in...The Police just need some time to “lose” the videos.
There is still the question on the Costco security tapes.
Yes on the tape an officer said a gun was pointed at him, but if they went in thinking someone was waving a gun around then anything can look like a gun (remember the guy in NY that was gunned down for pointing his wallet).
The real problem is that no matter how professional the police were, if the Costco employee gave them embellished information on the initial call than Costco can, and should, still be liable for wrongful death.
There was a transcript of the 911 call on a FR thread several weeks ago. The cops, based on the Costco employee’s description (”berserk, gun, tearing up the store...”) were loaded for bear. I imagine all sorts of images are running through their heads as they race to the store.
There was radio traffic on setting up a command post in a parking lot across the street, etc. So - these cops were paranoid and on high alert.
However, if the situation seemed so huge (command centers, etc.) - why were there only four cops at the exit of the store. And one would think that their observations of the actual events would have given them the REAL information that this guy was not a threat real quick. A Costco employee had to point out the guy to the cops as he calmly filed out with all the other customers evacuating the building.
Idiot cops. Idiot liberal imployee. And an innocent, and upstanding citizen, is gunned down in cold blood. The Costco employee, and the cops, should be held responsible. Too bad the 4 video tapes outside the store, and the one on the aisle where the guy was trying out the bottles and the backpack will be found to have problems after they create them. Hopefully the one Costco employee that was reported to have help load the water bottles back into his cart and get him on his way to the check-out will be honest and brave and come forward.
The complete tapes have NOT as yet been released. These are edited to make the cops look professional and justified. There is still an innocent man that was murdered.......no bystanders have come forward from that day to say he deserved killing. Not a one. Very telling. Where are the frightened shoppers from that day who were terrified by a man with a gun? The dang JetBlue steward case has the passengers slamming him already.....why not this guy? Maybe because he did nothing wrong. We need the whole truth to come out.
