Just like the veteran reporter who use to sit in that seat, Helen Thomas' White House briefing room nameplate is gone. But turns out, it wasn't removed to make way for the Associated Press, which is getting Thomas' front-row seat. Instead, it has vanished.
It disappeared earlier this week, and nobody seems to know who took it. With tourists coming in and out of the briefing room every day, it seems plausible someone might have nabbed the name plate as a souvenir, one source told Yeas & Nays. Thomas, who was interviewed by Mediaite's Tommy Christopher, doesn't have it at home with her either.

I have been saying all along she took herself. And of course she did. When you change jobs, or retire, or have to leave in disgrace, you take with you that little triangular thingie with your name on it that sits on your desk in case your employees can’t remember your name. That was her little triangular thingie.

If they can steal a nameplate, what else are they stealing? Our money! Our freedom! Our sovereignty! Our respect! Our lives, in general!

I worked for a guy who when he fired or laid off someone, he would steal their name plate and mount it in his office like a trophy. He ha dozens of them. Really creepy.
He was a real life goule who got his rocks off by ruining peoples lives.
Fortunately, he finally got canned. The company finally noticed that his department had turnover at 3X the average.
We had a going away party for him the Saturday after he left. Strange thing was, somebody forgot to invite him.
