The Republican U.S. Senate nominee says she's tough on illegal immigration but draws the line on altering the amendment, which grants citizenship to all people born in the United States.

Republican U.S. Senate nominee Carly Fiorina said Thursday that she opposes calls from some conservatives to alter the 14th Amendment, which grants citizenship to all people born in the United States.
Fiorina sought to appeal to conservative voters on immigration issues during her party's primary this spring, strongly backing Arizona's tough new law on illegal immigration, for example. But she drew the line Thursday at the question of denying birthright citizenship an issue that could be highly controversial among the state's large number of Latino voters.
"I don't think that's a useful dialogue I don't support changing the 14th Amendment," Fiorina told reporters after speaking to a convention of California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce in downtown Los Angeles. "I think what we need to do is have the federal government do its job and secure the border and have a temporary worker program that works. And all the rest of it is a distraction and, unfortunately, an emotional distraction."

Fear? It’s a certainty.
That’s why they refrain from fixing the early Primary processes. They like the Democrats helping to make sure a Conservative can’t gain the nomination.
It’s why to this day I state that Reagan was not intended to win. It was his early popularity that overwhelmed the checks and balances that were supposed to prevent it.
CalCowGirl is absolutely right here too, and I know you agree SJB. The CalGOP will definitely frame Fiorina a Conservative, and seek to go farther left on the premise one can’t win in California.
That is such hogwash. Hell, truth be told, that’s their premise nationally too. It’s no mistake that the GOP doesn’t fight for California. They’ve essentially written it off to Mexico already.
Well, we should get a preview next month. Remember September 2008 when the RNC rolled out the top speakers for the convention? McCain, Giuliani, and Schwarzenegger. The writing was on the wall. With McCain as the defacto leader of the Republican Party, I can only cringe at what we will see this year.
And in regard to California, they spent a year recruiting Fiorina and Whitman and developing their "political resume" by giving them top posts in the McCain campaign. When Fiorina couldn't catch fire, they pushed Tom Campbell down into the Senatorial race to split the vote and allow them to ignore Devore entirely.
Sick bastards.
I loved that picture...

Evil bastards
So do I. And accurate. DeVore loves our Constitution and our country.
But the McCain “Axis of Evil “ has long tentacles.
DeVore, fine man that he is, got caught in those tentacles.
Thank ya! :-)
You can always pick out the RINO shills on FR. They’re the ones that trash DeVore and demean those who supported him.
They think they’re actually making a positive point (on a conservative forum). Great logic, huh? Go figure!

That’s okay, you don’t go to heaven for gaining political office by defrauding people.
Hey, I forgot about them.
No they will all pay.....some sooner, some later ;-)
It’s a case where one would delight in seeing CA repudiate Boxer but hardly have anything to show for an otherwise pyrrhic victory.
My remark had to do strictly with Fiorina’s mistaken notion that the 14th Amendment will have to be changed to stop the anchor baby fiasco. That is pathetic. I’m glad she survived her breast cancer surgery, but we don’t need another game-playing RINO obfuscating the obvious about immigration. So take your “pathetic,” and go play with it. We hire a bunch of RINOs, and the only place we will get is back where we were in 2006. That will be pathetic.
They cannot read that far -— like the 1st amendment which also states - “or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” Judges seem to prevent the free exercise willy-nilly.

Does it work? Yes.
Best time to catch them is at night.
Recently caught on cam and reported:
String of illegals running through brush with backpacks
Numerous sightings of boats crossing the river
Numerous vehicles late at night in isolated areas
IMMENSELY satisfying
