WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama will Friday join an evening meal to break the daily fast observed by Muslims during the holy month of Ramadan, the White House said.
The hosting of Iftar will be held in a dining room at the White House, his spokesman said.
Obama participated in a traditional Ramadan meal in September 2009, where he praised Islam as an integral part of the United States.

Pentagon Denies Flyover of Patriotic ‘God and Country Rally’ in Nampa Idaho Because of its Christian Content

NAMPA, ID (MetroCatholic) – This marks the first time in the 42 year history of the event that a flyover request was denied by the Pentagon.
The event is held ever year to honor the spiritual foundations of our country with a special emphasis on the men and women who serve in the armed forces.
In past years, the “God and Country Rally” has focused on honoring and paying tribute to those veterans who have served our nation in the past and those who are currently on active duty.
At the rally this year, all five branches of the armed services were featured with over 60 new recruits sworn into the military at the event.
After a phone conversation and an e-mail response from the Pentagon, Rally Director Patti Syme says they were denied the request for a flyover this year because of the “Christian” nature of the event.

The Christian Defense Coalition says this is a “slap in the face” to all those who have proudly served or are currently on active duty in the armed services.
The group is concerned that this new policy may indicate an open hostility toward public expressions of faith by the Obama Administration.

Ramadan is when Muslims go nuts starving themselves during the day and pigging out at sundown. In fact they gain weight during Ramadan due to the starvation/pigout cycle they go through for 30 days
It is not a holy month. It is a loony month with tempers on edge during the day time especially the cigarette smokers who are supposed to abstain during daylight hours

President Obama will host a White House dinner Tuesday night celebrating Ramadan, the Muslim holy month during which the faithful fast from dawn to sunset each day.
Obama will be joined at the dinner by three Cabinet members, five members of Congress, nearly two dozen foreign diplomats, and 33 community leaders. Among the invited diplomats are the Israeli ambassador and the chief of mission for the Palestinian Liberation Organization, as well as the Indian and Pakistani ambassadors to the United States.
Asked about the unusual step of inviting the Israeli ambassador to the dinner, the White House described it as a small part of the event. “Tonight was an opportunity to continue the tradition of hosting iftars at the White House, while celebrating Muslim Americans, and tonight’s dinner is made up of a diverse group of individuals from business leaders to members of the US military,” White House spokesman Thomas Vietor said. “Additionally, we thought it was an opportunity to reach out to ambassadors of nations with sizable Muslim populations, including the ambassadors of France, the [United Kingdom], India, and Israel.”
Obama intends to highlight one story in particular: that of Bilqis Abdul-Qaadir, a young woman who broke high school basketball records in Massachusetts before heading to the University of Memphis — while wearing a traditional hijab.
Obama, who held an intimate Passover Seder at the White House in April, will host the dinner beginning at 8 p.m. tonight. Ramadan, which started on Aug. 22, will end on Sept. 20.
On Aug. 21, the president released a Ramadan video message to Muslims around the world.

Thanks but the exact traditions of whatever religion are not my concern. It is the fact that Obama stumps out Christianity (the minority downtrodden religion of this country) under SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE; yet he can celebrate his religion on OUR DIME?
Obama should celebrate this in his home in Chicago privately since he denounced GOD AND COUNTRY at the white house.
He can’t have it both ways. He can’t have his prayer rug and bow on it too on our dime!
