Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin of Illinois has had a stomach tumor removed and is recovering at the University of Chicago Medical Center.

Durbin's office said surgeons removed the small tumor on Thursday. Spokesman Joe Shoemaker said a preliminary biopsy showed no signs of cancer, although these kinds of tumors can be malignant.

A statement from Durbin's office said further treatment is not expected. It said the preliminary biopsy results "demonstrate a favorable prognosis" and Durbin should be able to resume a full schedule as early as next week.

I think I can wish him a long and happy retirement to tend to his health concerns.

I wish many in Congress would choose to exploit their golden parachute pensions, and stop clinging to their lust for power.

I don’t wish any bad outcome for Durbin.

I do think the title should be amended to state...

Tumor has Senator Durbin removed.

I’m not sure what the final outcome for Wayne officially was, but his lungs were the problem. He had vicious lung cancer.

It left him so weak that he had a very hard time filming some of his later roles.

Cancer = BAD

I pray the tumor is benign and he recovers.

Durbin is rotten but I will not wish this on him. There are those in this world who deserve it and much worse but those are the likes of Pol Pot and such.

Wayne had a lung and some ribs removed in 1964....because of cancer. He was cancer free 5 years later....

Although he did in fact die...of stomach cancer in 1979.

During the operation they also found a polyp in his colon that looked remarkably like his head . . .

Forgot a quote that I like from J.W.

"By going to school. I don't know why people insist that blacks have been forbidden to go to school. They were allowed in public schools wherever I've been. I think any black man who can compete with a white can get a better break than a white man. I wish they'd tell me where in the world they have it better than right here in America.

Durbin is all cancer, a malignant liberal blob on the political body.

Okay, thank you.

My first wife and I were in Avalon on Catalina one afternoon years ago, and across the street there came John Wayne with a couple of friends. They were having a lively conversation and cutting it up pretty good as they headed for the main stretch along the beach.

My grandfather had stomach cancer diagnosed in the early 70’s. After surgery and treatment it went into remission. Then, in the early 80’s he had a recurrence - this time it metastasized and spread into the lungs and brain. He died in Dec 1984 at the age of 85. I would not wish this upon anyone, even Dick. All things are in God's hands.

I pray that he heals well and has a speedy recovery.

My question though is, if Cuban healthcare is SOOOO much better than ours, why didn’t he go there?

That said, Give that man the green hospital jello treatment!
