Harper recently issued new guidelines to his officers to no longer check the immigration status of a person and to leave enforcement of immigration laws to federal officers. Harper says police need good relations with the immigrant community and should not be feared.

The affirmative action hire chief of police doesn't want to "racially profile".

The Chief of Police should be fired and then arrested.
He sure as hell is no Joe Arpaio.
Nothing really new. Pittsburgh is an ultra-liberal, union town.
The one guy they got on the news to denounce this was a union spokesman. The unions don’t want cheap illegals taking their jobs.
maybe they need to talk to Phx cops—

With a twenty-something Dummycrat Mayor who has the approximate IQ of a turnip. Wait till we have a serial killer on the loose who turns out to be an illegal and to have been in four or five traffic stops. About the only upside here is that we have a very small immigrant community, thanks to the perennially lousy economy.
He sure as hell is no Joe Arpaio.
Picture Danny Glover after an evening of heavy drinking.
That would be more like it.
What a great idea! Police see heavily-bearded males strapped with explosives & screaming “Allah Akbar!”, but don’t do anything because they need to have “good relations” with the Muslim Community.</sarc>
I am so glad my law enforcement career is over. Retirement is good. My Sweeetie is better. Beer is the best. I feel for my comrades still carrying the badge.
The immigrant community is growing. When I’m out and about, I notice a larger number of Spanish speaking people and Muslims. My guess is that more and more will move into Pittsburgh as other cities and states toss ‘em out.
I came from an immigrant mother so I have no problem with immigration. I do have a problem with those who come in here illegally and who may be potential criminals or terrorists.
But if our beloved president grants amnesty, these immigrants will be ripe for recruitment into unions. Notice that no one it seems has the balls to enforce the laws. They see some advantage in having the illegals here.
I do know a number of immigrants in Pittsburgh, but they are all people who came legally and went through bureaucrat hell to get their green cards. Most of them are from China or India and have better than average jobs. We have never had a large Hispanic influx because we just did not have a lot of the manual labor jobs that they found appealing. (and for those we did have you had long lines of displaced local steelworkers lining up for them)
Plus a Mexican roofer once told my buddy he prefers living in Ohio because you can’t buy beer in the 7-elevens here.
Sanctuary city - light.
When I was a Deputy in Southern California, we routinely enforced immigration law. It was a well known fact. It did NOT deter anyone from ever calling and reporting a crime.

Night cams in operation

Does it work? Yes.
Best time to catch them is at night.
Recently caught on cam and reported:
String of illegals running through brush with backpacks
Numerous sightings of boats crossing the river
Numerous vehicles late at night in isolated areas
IMMENSELY satisfying

I regularly eat at a local Mexican restaurant chain called Rey Azteca. The employees barely speak English but are all legal and the hardest working people you’ll ever meet. The legal hoops they have to go through to keep their legal status is amazing, but the owner, who emmigrated over 20 years ago and is now a citizen, won’t tolerate any employee breaking any law.
