It is New Jersey - the list of possible causes could be endless - sorry New Jersey.

Do you know why New Jersey got all those chemical plants and that dissgusting smell as you drive down 95 and Massachusetts got barney frank, mitt romeny, and johnnie kerry?

New Jersey got first choice.

DeBrosse arrived at 7 a.m. and saw the water and beaches were full of dead fish. He theorized the fish were up in the tidal tributaries and the recent hot weather lowered the dissolved oxygen levels in the water, leading to the fish kill.

"This happened in the 1970's once at the same time of year," DeBrosse said.

The fish were spread out on beaches from Pierce's Point in Middle Township to the Villas section of Lower Township. DeBrosse does not expect any impact on the millions of oysters being cultivated in the waters off the Cape Shore Laboratory.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Menhaden

The Atlantic menhaden (Brevoortia tyrannus) is a small, oily-fleshed fish

The maximum size for the Atlantic menhaden is usually 15 inches (380 mm).

They are bright silver, and have black spots extending horizontally from the gill plate to the tail, with the largest directly behind the gill plate. They are quite flat and soft fleshed, with a deeply forked tail. The edges of the fins and tail often have a yellowish hue. At sea, schools may contain millions of members.

If I see fish on shore washing up I give them a bar of soap and send them back in the water.
Fish are too stupid to reaize that they can’t breathe on shore-
But that’s where the soap is so they keep coming.

“This happened in the 1970’s once at the same time of year,”’

Sorry Al Gore it is not attributable to global warming as it happened in the 70’s when IIRC we were supposedly cooling.

peanut bunker.

Peanut bunker turned my life around........If it wasn't for peanut bunker I'd be living a life of destitution on the streets, begging for handouts from stingy democrats..........

No, not that peanut bunker, the other one. The EVIL one. The one Archie and Edith never talked about...

****
So is it the ghosts of the dead fish that are appearing to the small menhaden? Is there an aquatic psychic involved? And I have heard people describe this fish or that as “small”, but how can something be “exclusively small”?
