There they go again. For the fifth time since July, the first family has set plans to board Air Force One for a frilly vacation, a 10-day return trip to exclusive Martha's Vineyard where they are expected to stay at the 28-acre oceanfront Blue Heron Farm that rents for up to $50,000 a week.
But first the Obamas will be traveling to the Gulf Coast of Florida for a mini-vacation as a way to encourage other vacationing Americans to head to the beaches that have been shunned by tourists worried about oil-slicked sands due to the Gulf oil spill. They are expected to travel to Florida this weekend, return to Washington for a few days then it's off to the Massachusetts island August 19. [See photos of the Obamas behind the scenes.]
This weekend's jaunt was announced after first lady Michelle Obama said during a recent trip to Panama City Beach, Florida that, "One of the best ways that fellow Americans can help is to come on down here and spend some money," She's expected to be joined by the president and 9-year old Sasha. Malia, 12, is away at camp for the first time at an undisclosed location.

STEPHEN HESS: I think there will be enough blame to go around. I think there will be a lot of blames for the states and localities. This happened - particularly in Louisiana, in a state that’s always been among the most corrupt and inefficient in the US. So, there will be state blame. There will be blames as far as the mayors who are running the local situation. But, ultimately, everyone is going to say, “Okay, where was the President?” He made a lot of symbolic mistakes. He didn’t rush back from his own vacation in Crawford, Texas, fast enough. He gave a speech that was hardly inspirational when got here. He’s been doing a lot of make-up work. I shouldn’t make it sound like all a downer. In the last couple of days he’Ts been rushing back and forth to the disaster area. He’s had Condolezza Rice there. He’s had Donald Rumsfeld there. So he may have picked up some of the political loss that he had from the first couple of days.

Bush was on vacation in 2005 when Hurricane Katrina hit, earning him a hard political lesson in appearing out of touch. Last week as the crisis in Georgia unfolded, Bush was at the Olympics, visibly enjoying himself with the athletes.
I’ve now taken 7 days of my 10 days of vacation given by my company. I can assure anyone who asks, I’ve worked harder, thought harder and stressed myself out more that the bastard who think he’s running this country. I can not put the words together to begin to say how much I hate this a-hole and his a-hole wife!

August 19—good time for a rip-roaring North Atlantic hurricane!
That would be Reggie Love.
I think his obsessive amounts of vacation as a mixed blessing. I mean it could be worse, he could be trying to do his job...
“let them eat cake.”
I can only hope they choke on their cake. It will never make up for the crap they’ve shoved down our throats.
That’s what I’m thinking. These clowns know their days are numbered and they might as well party like its 1999.
Anyone remember the picture of a sweaty, beady-eyed Algore dancing at his party, while holed up in the VP’s mansion, waiting the recount.
You got my vote for best post!
It's PAY BACK TIME, BIG TIME, BABY! I can just see the two of them shuckin’ and jivein’ and slappin’ each other on the back, and obummer high fivein’ Mooch-elle with his limp-wristed hand.
A couple of despicable angry freaks, she a faux wife and revolutionary, and he a faux husband/gay man who has said “he is the one we've been waiting for.”
Nauseating to look at.
Well said!
How about the queen and the queer?
The Czars are doing a lot behind the scenes.
I thought it was 9:30 also... which is really bad in my opinion. 9 in a business setting, well ok, as long as the person stays until 6, or 7 or 8 pm.... In Huss’s case he should stay longer.
But arriving at 9:30, meaning he’s not really “working” until 10:30, just about lunch time, that is REALLY pathetic!!!!
(Personally, I have flex time at work but like to start by 7:30 at latest, usually 6 am if I’m working at home. And I’m only in charge of myself, not the whole country!)
Stealing hardworking taxpayers money is what the Obamas do best.
Good points. The other thing people forget is they must take vehicles with them when they travel. It’s not just them and luggage and hangers-on and staff and security, it is cars and trucks etc. It really is a big deal to travel the way they do.
Laziest President ever!
