Why am I not surprised that a leading Hollywood director is bemoaning poor, misunderstood Adolf's place in history? Oliver Stone says his upcoming Showtime documentary series Secret History of America will put the 20th century's star butchers Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin "in context." That Hollywood would glorify Stalin is hardly a shock to anyone. If you go back to many Cold War-era movies, you will find tortured excuses — even fulsome praise — for Mother Russia. Only Nazi Germany was allowed to appear on the screen as evil incarnate. For decades, Hitler has been the perfect role model as villain — right out of "central casting."

Nazism is no longer needed as Hollywood’s standard of evil now that Christianity has taken its place as the focus of wickedness.
I used to work with someone who held a doctorate in history, and had done his dissertation on a specific period of German history (sorry, forgot which century), and liked to visit Germany now and then. He said one of his favorite ways to interact, was to go to a pub, and offer to buy a beer for one or two locals, and get them talking. At the first beer, Hitler was “a terrible man! A horrible time in our history”; after the 2nd, “...but you know, he did some good things...” and by the 3rd, “by G-D, we need a man like Hitler today.”
He found it frightening that so many were just 3 beers away from wanting Hitler back. My friend was physically handicapped - and would have been exterminated in Hitler’s Germany.

Do you think that American Jews have figured out that the Left is not their friend?
I know Jews want to be peacemakers, and want to love everybody, and think of the Right as inimical to their instincts to take care of everybody, which instincts are good, only misguided in thinking that the Left really has that intention at heart, or that it can be done from the top down with the assistance of a “benevolent People’s dictatorship”.
But I’m wondering if they’re waking up to the hard realities.

The article makes some good points; in a proper context, you could show how eastern Europe simply replaced one oppressive conqueror with another. But that’s stating the obvious; everyone with a brain knows this.
My reservation is about entrusting Oliver Stone of all people to deliver the message. I don’t think you will see any new ground broken here. It will be the same leftist “Hitler was evil, but Stalin merely did what he had to do in order to build a great nation” sort of crap. It will be dressed up and packaged as a “fresh look” at the 20th Century dictators. But Hollywood has their own core values of political correctness that will never be violated. Hollywood will always portray Stalin as a sort of “Batman” character; a “dark hero” of history. And we won’t ever get anything else.

Bit of exaggeration. More true a generation ago than now. But as far as Hitler is concerned, do not confuse the confused madman of 1945 with the man at his best. As Speer tells us, when he met Hitler he was disarmed by Hitler who in person was aware of his reputation and admitted his shortcomings. I once read account of a mayor who spent hours and said he behaved in general like an good Burger, and discussed even Jews in a rational manner. Great personal magnetism despite a very ordinary appearance. Concealed the devil inside very well.

Too many, including many Jews, have bought into Stalin’s lie that Nazism was a right wing phenomenon, and this continues to cloud judgment today. In actuality, although the Nazis were radical on race, they were just left of center on many other political issues. Specificly, it was the killing of the SA strong leftist homosexual leader Rohm in 1934 by Hitler, Goering, and Himmler that continues to haunt all historical studies on Nazism. However, Rohm was not killed not for ideology, but for pure expediency and raw power. Once the Nazis were able to get on top of the Wehrmacht (the army) without a shot being fired, Rohm not only became expendable, but also a liability (he was initially to be used to take control of the army). The Nazis thus compromised their leftist ideology of the 20’s for the sake of rawpower in the 30’s, all in the name of moderation and image. With great interest as well, with Rohm out of the way, the ‘green’ triumvirate of Hess, Himmler, and Goering replaced the ‘pink’ in the upper eschelons of the Nazi Party. Curiously, Stalin kept Beria, who was not only in charge of the NKVD (early KGB), but also an extreme sadistic sexual pervert.
