Could use the rain in Texas, but it looks like Louisiana’s getting it.

Looks like a minimal storm, don’t know how much rain Louisiana has had lately.

Yes, it's really hard to believe.
How much do you want to bet if the Hurricane reaches LA, Obama and his thugs will push Jindal out of the way and try to run things?
To: NautiNurse
Thanks once again NN for taking the time to keep us informed. Hope this one goes the way of Bonnie, but it has been hot. Next week, Aug 18, is the anniversary of Alicia which hit the greater Houston area in 1983. Guess it's “churn time” in the gulf. Stay safe.

Current forecast doesn’t strengthen this system above tropical storm.

I remember the forecasters back then telling us it was just a rainmaker and when it became a hurricane we were told it would be minimal, nothing to worry about, just a lot of rain, then it got closer and turned into a cat 3, and stayed stalled on the coast of Galveston for close to 24 hours. Oh yeah, I remember that storm, and in some ways was worse than Ike.Lots of rain and lots of trees down, tons of glass in the street downtown.

That storm taught me to never assume any storm in the gulf, even a weak one close to land, is to discounted. What was it, the morning of the 18th Alicia was a Cat.1, then later that night she made landfall a Cat 3 heading dead on into Houston. One rocky 12 hours.
