Despite a categorical denial, evidence is mounting that leading Hawaii gubernatorial candidate Neil Abercrombie, is a covert socialist. What is worse, he may be lying about it.
In response to a; July 12 post questioning whether that Mr Abercrombie was a member of America's largest marxist organization, Democratic Socialists of America, his campaign issued a statement saying;
QUESTION: Was Neil a member of the Democratic Socialists of America or any other socialist or communist organization? My original post included documentary evidence, from Democratic Socialists of America publications - none of which was challenged or refuted by the Abercrombie campaignANSWER: NO. Neil has never been part of any socialist or communist organization.
Now comes yet further documentary evidence of Abercrombie's ties to D.S.A.
Note in the above text that Neil Abercrombie gave an "extemporaneous, impassioned speech" to an explicitly D.S.A. organized "Socialist Caucus" during that year's Democratic Party convention.
The other speakers at the Socialist Caucus , Cornel West, Bob Fitrakis and Ed Vargas were all confirmed members of Democratic Socialists of America.
Note that Fitrakis was standing for Congress in Ohio, on the Democratic Party ticket. He was unsuccessful, but it proves the point that "DSAers" did stand for Congress, under the Democratic banner.
Also Ed Vargas (a former leader of the Marxist-Leninist , Puerto Rican Socialist Party) openly boasts of how "progressives took over the Hartdford (Connecticut) Democratic Party."
Vargas was then chair of the Hartford Democratic Party and has also served on the national Democratic Party's Credentials Committee.
How does Neil Abercrombie explain this connection?
Either Democratic Socialists of America decided to tell lies about Neil Abercrombie in 1999, 1992 and 2006, or Mr Abercrombie is the one whose memory is at fault.
As Neil Abercrombie is a leading contender for the governorship of Hawaii, surely it is a matter of public concern to clarify both his honesty and his true political allegiances?
Hard documentary evidence pins Neil Abercrombie to Democratic Socialists of America.
Abercrombie emphatically denies that he was ever "part" of this organization.
Who will ask Neil Abercrombie the hard questions?

Q: What is the Democratic Socialists of America [DSA]? A: It is the largest socialist organization in the United States, and the principal U.S. affiliate of the Socialist International. Their website is http://www.dsausa.org/dsa.html
Q: What are seven principles behind what the DSA's calls it's "Progressive Challenge?"
Dignified Work
Environmental Justice
Economic Redistribution
Democratic Participation
Community Empowerment
Global Non-Violence
Social Justice.
Note the third principle-ECONOMIC REDISTRIBUTION--read as taking money from producers and giving it to non-producers, and not just in the US, but global redistribution.Right now the European Union is pushing for power to DIRECTLY tax citizens of the UK and the UN is pushing for power to tax EVERY country.
Notice the sixth-GLOBAL DISARMAMENT--read disarmament and destruction of our military.
These people are a real and present danger to our country AND THEY ARE LEADING IT! Why is some of this not used in campaigns to get rid of them?

The sad part is that Neil is the best we have got. As a conservative, I am loathe to vote for republican candidate Duke Aiona. He, as we used to say in the Navy, “looks good in uniform.” All fluff and no substance. The other democrat constestant, Muffi Hanneman, is about as corrupt as they come. So, Abercrombie is about the best choice we have, socialist or not. At least he wants to offer up accountability with the state’s education system, something neither of the other two want to do.

Nancie Caraway is a political science professor. I took “Politics of Popular Culture” (or something like that) with her when she was teaching as a visiting prof at my college. Second least-enjoyable class I ever had (worse than “Managerial Statistics”, but still better than “Leadership” with another like-minded prof).
Her’s was the first class where I had a paper red-penned, and marked down, for using masculine pronouns in the generic. Despite the fact that the school’s official style handbook said it was acceptable. I wanted to escalate, was told by friends of mine in the school’s admin office not to take it to the dean because he wouldn’t fight the wife of a Congressman.
Ended up doing my term paper for the class on Dinesh D’Souza’s “Illiberal Education”, lacing it with suggestions that my own research into the subject found several DC-based Conservative interest groups just itching to file anti-PC lawsuits against colleges/professors with “thought police” mentalities. IIRC I got an A- on the paper, B+ for the class.
Abercombie has been a good little comrade for many years.
Do you live in Hawaii? So do I.
Yes. Big Island.
I am on Oahu.
