I was at a Tea Party today. Don’t Tread on ME! - heh.
This IS parody, right?
I bet this will spawn lawsuits.
If I lived in WI, I’d walk right up to the State House and violate the law. If they charged me, I would wait for the courts to strike down the law as unconstitutional - then sue the pants off the state government for violating my constitutional rights ...
I asked a question, which has nothing to do with “calming down”, and I have already received two responses that answers my question.
Thanks for responding to my question.
The obvious has already been pointed out to you that Ryan had nothing to do with this. My question, why single out Ryan? Why didn't you include Sensenbrenner who is also a U.S. congressman and was also on that list?
I asked a question and I’ve already received many responses and clarification.
I have a feeling this will be a VERY, VERY selectively enforced law. If they even get past the legal challenges.
That said, this is very disturbing. If I decide to say or do ANYTHING online, or even if I wanted to go stand by the courthouse and protest something how am I supposed to know if that will be interpreted as “endorsing” or “working for” a candidate? How do I determine if something I write is worth $25.00 or not? If it’s the only thing I publish on my website for a year does that mean it’s worth $300.00?
Plus, this isn’t just 2 months before a general election. They are mentioning 2 months before ANY election — and there are some held every spring as well... Do I have to now black out 4 months on my calendar every year during which I can’t be critical of an elected official if they are running for re-election?
So many questions that should NEVER have to even be contemplated... It’s CLEARLY something that could be interpreted as COMPLETELY against the 1st Amendment.
They got NOTA on the actual BALLOTS in Nevada? *facepalm*
It’s great within an organization like a political party to avoid getting “stuck” with someone who doesn’t represent the party’s platform, but on an election ballot for the general or local elections? Praytell, what do they do if NOTA wins (say for *Governor*, or *Senator*)? Just leave the position empty? Which party or politician gets to hand-pick someone in that case?
This is ALL insanity.
Thank you for posting this... I personally find it VERY hard to keep track of the goings-on here in WI. It doesn’t surprise me that I’ve first heard about this here...

Where does the ACLU weigh in on this?
The author then gives a list of people, most of whom are federal members of Congress.
While they might support such a law, they had absolutely nothing to do with getting it passed as a state law. Certainly aren't "responsible" for it.
And thenone of those listed are "WI legislators."
Even the state officials aren't "legislators."
man: “ this used to be America “
cop: “ well it ain’t anymore “

The election process itself is a remedy. We had a similar problem with the Seditin Acts. The Federalist Party ultimately destroyed itself. They were so arrogant that they even threw a congressman into prison for ‘sedition’. When he left prison, he was greeted with a parade.
Here’s some of the violent history:

Hmm... I think It’s time for me to hoist my FR Wisconsin flag and offer political opinions about my state. Did I say I live in Virginia? No, I live in Wisconsin.
ACLU? If homosexual islamics are offended by a lady wearing a wedding ring, they might be interested.
Please join me in hoisting your Wisconsin flag in your FR profile. I admit, I lied all these years about living in Virginia. Nope, it’s Wisconsin. And I will be speaking my mind until election day about who to vote for. Vote conservative.
Oh, and Russ Feingold is an idiot and a traitor to his country. Fine me for that, scumbags.
