This week, local talk radio host Vicki McKenna (Milwaukee and Madison radio shows) discussed this unconstitutional removal of speech rights.

This will not stand!
We will not obey unconstitutional orders from tyrants!

How do they plan to enforce this insanity? These people shred the Constitution like it was yesterday’s newspaper.

“Color me ignorant but can governments just keep passing laws that void the Constituion?”

They can do whatever they want if the sheep allow it.

Yes, we are indeed sheep compared to our ancestors.

King George had nothing on our current government.

“Won’t survive the first court challenge.”

They don’t care. It’ll survive long enough to get cronies and incumbents back in office THIS November.

this law goes into effect on August 15, 2010 with little to no time for successful legal challenges prior to the November 2010 election.

I wouldnt wait for these legal challenges to make its way through the courts. I'd violate this law right now. A law thats unconstitutional is a law that doesnt exist. And I'd take my chances with the authorities knowing that in the end theyre gonna wind up owing me millions of dollars for violating my constitutional and civil rights.

On August 26, 1765, lieutenant governor Thomas Hutchinson’s home in Boston was destroyed by an angry crowd. It was torn down, brick by brick to show the crowd’s displeasure at Stamp Act, passed earlier that year.

they did anticipate such government intrusion into everyones live. Thats why the gave us the 2nd amendment. The Constitution gives every citizen the RIGHT to rise up against an out of control governemnt, an armed populace is the only thing that will protect us in times like these.

“Under this new law, individuals and groups must pay a $100 registration fee to the state of WI if they want permission to use political speech that totals at least $25 “cumulatively in a calendar year.” But it doesn’t stop there…

Individuals and groups must set up a separate depository account and file a report with the Accountability Board and Secretary of State. They then need to provide periodic reports of every communication – explaining the type of communication/action for each and every episode of political free speech. “

So just to be clear, if I publicly declare within the State of Wisconsin that the legislature should go F’ itself over this new “law”, I would be in violation if I did not register and provide a written report about it to the regulating body?

They’re out of their mind. But, I think it would be a pretty funny written report.

I’d like to know WHO was involved in proposing/writing this rule and giving it to the GAO, which they later adopted.

I know that the current Wisconsin legislators did not respond to it, therefore, ‘ok’ing’ this rule. But, who wrote this thing?

According to this new rule, after August 15, you would need to decide if you plan to spend more than $25 in a calendar year to voice your political opinion.

If that is the case - you would need to register and pay the #100 and set up the account, give reports, etc. just to criticize the board.

The answer is yes - you would be in violation.

***************

The GAO initiated this!! This is too much power for a board.

The GAO sent it to the senate in 2007 and the senate passed it. Then they posted a document showing they were going to review it after the SCOTUS ruling about campaign finance. The document shows the strike-through changes they made.

This “law” should simply be ignored and treated with the contempt and disrespect it (and those who enacted it) deserve.

Hopefully, this is just the beginning and will put an end to this rule.
