WikiLeaks driving them Gaga
HAMISH MCDONALD August 7, 2010
Is Julian Assange, the Australian former computer hacker running the website WikiLeaks, a journalist or a criminal? The debate is running hot in the United States. Who is Assange to set himself up as the judge of what should be kept secret and what should be exposed, the Pentagon chiefs are asking.
''By the standards of US law - including under the Supreme Court decision in the Pentagon Papers case - he should be considered a criminal,'' wrote the conservative columnist Marc Thiessen on the Washington Post website PostPartisan. ''He is in unlawful possession of classified information. He has released tens of thousands of documents, which the Taliban are using at this moment to target and execute Afghans who co-operated with US and NATO forces. And he is threatening to release many thousands more, which could put more American, Afghan and allied lives at risk. His actions are a clear violation of US law. He should face justice for these crimes.''

Wikileaks Posts Massive New File to Afghan War Docs
By Joshua Philipp/Epoch Times Staff
A new file was posted to the controversial Wikileaks Afghan War Diary website on Thursday. The 1.4 GB file, called Insurance is encrypted and its contents is still unknown. It is more than 18 times the size of the current collection of 76,908 classified military documents, which combine to total roughly 75 MB.
The locked document was posted amidst rising pressure from the U.S. government on Wikileaks founder Julian Assange due to the possible effects that the reports could have on U.S. troops and operations in Afghanistan.
Pentagon spokesman Geoff Morrel demanded that the website return military documents obtained from Pentagon databases or records immediately, Defense News reported on Thursday.
"[A] large number of our documents has already threatened the safety of our troops, our allies, and Afghan citizens who are working with us to help bring about peace and stability in that part of the world," Morrel said.
The website is believed to contain 92,000 sensitive U.S. documents pertaining to the war on Afghanistan. The site will allegedly release an additional 15,000 documents from 2004-2009 after its volunteers review the contents.
It is unclear whether the large file posted by Wikileaks on Thursday contains the rest of the documents, although the size of the file suggests it may contain videos, images, or audio clips.
Individual names of Afghan informants and collaborators were included in previous Wikileaks reports. These individuals are believed to be in particular danger due to the leaked information.
[W]e have no doubt that people are scouring these documents, and identifying sources, and we have concerns about their welfare, Department of State spokesman Philip J. Crowley said on Aug. 2.***********
Pentagon threatens to 'compel' WikiLeaks to hand over Afghan war data
With WikiLeaks on the verge of publishing another cache of secret Afghan war documents 20 times larger than its original leak, the Pentagon said Thursday that it may 'compel them to do the right thing.'
With WikiLeaks now threatening to publish thousands more classified documents on the US war in Afghanistan, the Pentagon is demanding that the whistleblower website erase its extensive classified records and hand over all documents in its possession.
"The only acceptable course is for WikiLeaks to take steps to immediately return all versions of all of those documents to the US government and permanently delete them from its website, computers, and records," Pentagon spokesman Geoff Morrell said on Thursday, according to the Guardian.
He added: "If doing the right thing is not good enough for them, then we will figure out what alternatives we have to compel them to do the right thing."
Come on Pentagon,
Just hired the best of the best or all computer hackers in U.S to take his site down.
Saw today that Russia is increasing its military buildup. NOW WOULD someone with a huge Government paycheck, stop looking at porn and do your job.
BUMP
It looks like the government is telling them to please stop committing treason.
Fair trial, conviction for all traitors and then the firing squad.
SS please note, FAIR TRIAL AND CONVICTION FIRST!
Just south of Helena, Mt. there is a roadside pine tree with a prominent limb known as the hanging tree as it was used to dispatch many outlaws in the past. It is a shame to allow it to go to unused as there are many traitors of our country who should be decorating that lower limb.
Treason is not protected speech.
Homosexual infiltrated the US Military, and then plundered 90,000 documents. Trial, convict, execute.
And those downloading the documents are criminal just as one who would download illegal videos whether they be copyrighted or porn.
I wonder how the Chinese would handle it if one of their soldiers released such information and then anti-war protesters threatened their troops.
SS please note, FAIR TRIAL AND CONVICTION FIRST!
Instant firing squad.
Personally, this Wikileaks idiot is fortunate, SS here reading this or not, if I was in charge, this idiot would have already disappeared from the face of this Earth.... =.=
“Instant firing squad.”
Lovely thought. But since the government is more like a parent than a government, we’re stuck with the necks of our troops stuck out in more danger. I am disgusted that our own soldiers are now in worse danger than ever because of this dip.
