Overnight Monday night there was a second set of leaks detected in the BOP assembly sitting on top of the Deepwater well in the Gulf, however these were successfully stopped by Tuesday morning and the flow testing of the well began. Oil was pumped into the well at several different rates, starting at 1 barrel/minute and ending at 7 bpm. During this series of tests the pressure in the well was monitored, and the results were sufficiently satisfying Textbook, as Kent Wells noted, that the well is now in process of being killed as mud is fed into the well at a slow, but steady rate.
B-b-bb-but, I thought this was the greatest natural disaster in American History! Yep, dropping what’s equivalent of a quart of oil into something the volume of Texas Stadium can make a mess. However, except for the Louisiana coastline (which Obama wouldn’t let Governor Jindhal protect), there’s been surprisingly little ecological damage. Guess Barack Hussein Obama’s (mmmmm mmmmmm mmmmm) plan to destroy the American environment as well as the economy took a hit.
Will BP get back any of that $20 billion Obama extorted? He robbed General Motors bond holders then BP stockholders. Hugo Chavez has probably stolen less.
You’re in for it now.
Anyone know if they are they going to put this into production? Or would that peg the PC meter?
I think when the kill a Well it is rendered useless. Now the relief Well maybe that could be used for extraction .
According to obozo agreements mean nothing anyway, so why should BP pay anything? Can we lift the drilling ban now?
Pray for America
Normal, everyday procedure.
Oh please. You don’t think all those millions of gallons of chemicals just went away and no big deal?
Maybe you can’t see the quart of oil in the stadium, but when the water is explosive, something is wrong.
And the water is explosive.
“And the water is explosive.”
Outstanding! Let’s blow it up and be done with it!
Documentation and source Please ?????
This is from a local news station in Alabama. Took water in from various places on shore and some at the boon sites. Chemist put in an organic separator and the water exploded.
News report and video here.
Also, Corexit is a dispersant much like dishwashing liquid is a dispersant/degreaser. The oil has been showing levels of at LEAST 40% methane being released with the oil all this time. Watch what happens when you mix methane with soapy dishwater.

I love Rush, listened to him for years. And while he is right about the other spills and leaks, in this case I just think he spoke too soon. I also think had they just let the oil alone it would have been fine. The dispersant added in the magnitude that they added it is going to be a HUGE problem for years. My friend just went down to Biloxi and said it smelled like Kerosene, gave him a headache.
So can the heavy mud be removed and the well become productive at a later date?
???Isn't that supposed to be mud was pumped into the well
The injection test used Oil.
For ALL the Rip Van Winkles: The well has been trashed and is why it blew up. The goal for the past 100+ days is to cement this bastard closed.
It was a Bad Well and must be punished....kill the well...plug the hole.!!
Actually they still have much work to do yet!
At some point,...now approaching,...all of these Doomsday stories are going to be laid to rest...with a special tombstone for Simmons.
That was a big farce....TV station wanted something dramatic,...helps with attracting eyeballs....staged or incompetent chemist.
After the literal Armageddon . . . looming on the not at all distant horizon.
